Q:Will this work in Ensenada, Baja, Mex? (Stationary)

    Answer This Question

A:  Camped for several months with travelers about 600 miles south of the US in Baja. Some had purchased their Starlink while in Baja and had it delivered to mail service providers there and then used it in Baja. So maybe service is not offered in Mainland.

A:  You would probably have a fair chance of it working. We live 30 miles South of San Felipe, Baja California, Mx, and several people use Starlink there. One of our friends works full-time, over the internet, doing web design and development, using Starlink.

      by|Sep 22, 2023

A:  No. Starlink offers high speed Internet only in approved countries; now it is currently approved to operate in USA, Canada, Britain, France, Austria, Australia and a couple more. They are taking orders for areas they plan to expand. 100 mbs to 500 mbs.

Q:I own 2 acres. Is it able to cover this area or does it only have a small radius. I want to know if I can only use it close to my house or anywhere on my property.

A:  Yes. Starlink makes a signal sending unit from the main house signal to the building and a receiving unit at the building that allows the signal to be wed in the building with good results. Those units are sold separately.

A:  You can use it anywhere. However, it must have an unobstructed view of the sky. Download the Starlink App to check for obstructions and choose a location without any.

A:  The router will only work close to your house. However, you could purchase mesh units if you have power around your property. You can also do it with certain other routers if you?re ambitious and creative.

A:  Portable/Roaming should be available in the continental US. This is not their "in motion" plan. I do believe you need to be stationary but will work anywhere that you can see the Northern sky. I believe their latest pricing is $150 per month.

A:  Only received 50' cable in Jan 2024 as well. This is the new advertised included length. Apparently can't order accessories until you first receive the dish/router kit box and actually start your service first. Doesn't make sense.

A:  Also, it comes pre-connected in the box, so you can see how it?s connected.

A:  The standard kit includes the Starlink Dish, a 75' cable, the router, a power cable, and a 4-legged mount. Additional mounts may be needed depending on your installation needs

A:  My cable, bought in October, 2023, was only 50 feet long. Seems like most folks say it is 75 feet in length, but I don't think that is true.
