A:  It conforms to siding unevenness. The black foam shapes to the wall. Your difference in surfaces shouldn’t be over 1/2 inch or so. Hint: Don’t over tighten the cover. Snug it up and stop.

Q:Do you still need to leave your faucet dripping with this cover over it?

        Answer This Question

A:  I don't leave my faucet dripping, but I'm in southern Nevada...not too many nights of cold weather. The seal sits tightly against the siding once the black "string" is tightened; the string is attached to a loop that is placed around the faucet. I've used the same one going on three years with no problems. Not sure it would seal tight enough over bricks with mortar joints or other uneven surfaces (I have stucco).

A:  We have not dripped the faucets since we installed these covers. We have experienced no problems so far.

A:  I’m not sure what Faucet you are referring to? This is made for hose bibs outside your house to cover during hard freezes to prevent copper lines from breaking.

A:  It’s made for standard size faucets with a depth of four inches tops. The seal would be poor for anything longer
