Q:Do you provide an insert that serves as a platform for smaller plants. This would require less soil. The diagrams suggest that the insert dimensions are very close to the bottom which means you fill up the rest of the reservoir with rocks and soil.

A: Hello, we have a reservoir system that allows some space from the bottom of the planter. You could fill over top the reservoir with rocks however that can.
1) Cause the reservoir to break
2) Renders our water reservoir component to be completely worthless. The reservoir allows the roots to grow through the soil and through the reservoir to whick the water.
The soil capacity for Sonata is 19.26L. Thank you.

A: There was no insert. I put rocks in the bottom and then soil. Still worked great.

A: This is not a self watering pot. The water drains from the bottom.

A: Hello, self-watering planter are designed to minimize water losses through seepage or evaporation. The reservoir holds ample water, turning watering plants into an occasional task. Wicking basket waters plant as needed to prevent water stagnation and root rot. Overflow valve prevents over watering and removable drain plug allows indoor and outdoor use. Thank you.
