Q:How far apart should the post be set ?

Answer This Question

A:  8 ft center to center

by|Aug 19, 2022

A:  That would depend upon the width of the fence that is being placed between them. For my gate, they are a little over 3' apart. For my fence sections they are 6' apart. Make sure you include room for any brackets. What we did is set the first one in concrete, exactly where we wanted it. After it had set we attached brackets to it and the next post. Dug hole for next post. Put post into the hole, attached the fencing and then poured the concrete for the second hole. Then immediately started the next section, etc.

A:  Depending upon the width of the panel they can be as far as 8 feet.

A:  So Jeff. How far apart should the posts be center to center for an 8? wide fence panel including the brackets?

A:  Hello, it depends on which series fence you are using. Please reference the installation guide for information. Thanks!

Q:Does this post work with the Linden vinyl fence?

A:  Thank you for your recent inquiry with The Home Depot. According to the manufacturer, Veranda fence posts will not work with Linden components for the following reasons: Linden requires a 9 foot post and Linden posts are specifically notched to accept Linden rails. We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you in the future

A:  Hi Tommy, this does not work with Linden. This is for bracket fence panels. Thanks!

Q:Would these be a good option to use as side posts to make a headboard? Looking for something lighter than using wood 4x4's. Could I screw lightwood slats to it?

                Answer This Question

A:  It might be ok. Or you may have to attach a 2x4 inside the post on the side you attach the slats to for some additional strength.

                by|Aug 10, 2022

A:  Yes, they could be used that way. However, it would be wise to slide a length of 1"x4" board inside the post as solid backing for screw or bolt fasteners used to attach the rails.

                  by|Aug 8, 2022

A:  Possibly if they are really light weight. I would be concerned if you plan to attach it to the bed frame and there is any movement the screws could break the post.

                    by|Aug 10, 2022

A:  WHILE YOU CAN SCREW INTO THEM - I WOULD NOT USE AS A HEADBOARD POST. THEY ARE DESIGNED TO HOLD LIGHT WEIGHT FENCE PANELS MADE FROM SAME MATERIALS.

                        Answer This Question

A:  Because there are no holes in the fence, yes the post is attached with brackets and is end line and corner posts because you attach brackets to it.

                          Q:Does veranda make a vinyl post sleeve that will slide over a wooden 6?x 6? ( actual measurement of 5.5? x 5.5?) ?

                          Answer This Question

A:  Weird question. These are posts, not sleeves. To re-enforce the post, after it is cemented into the ground insert a 4x4 wood post inside. In order to slide a vinyl post over an existing 6x6 wooden post, you would need to use a 7x7 vinyl post. You would need to ask Veranda this question, not customers.
