Q:Does this thing really get to 1000 degrees? Does the tip burn stuff if it touches the work surface?
by|Feb 25, 2023

Answer This Question

A:  The top temperature this heat gun will reach is 1,100 degrees. The tip could burn something if the heat gun is held too close to it, which is why we suggest continuous movement. Also if the heat gun is held too close to something for too long it could blow the fuse on the heat gun. If you have further questions or would like to discuss this feel free to call us at 1-800-328-8251.

A:  Didn't actually measure the temperature but it gets really hot. It will burn surfaces when off before it cools down.

A:  Absolutely NOT hot enough. You need a torch to sweat solder copper fittings. Newer solder with no lead needs a hotter torch than the old 50/50 lead-tin solder. Try a MAPP gas torch, hotter than propane.

A:  I’m not sure how hot that would have to be, but it will burn skin. I used mine to remove vinyl lettering from vehicles.
