Parts are different enough to NOT be interchangeable but that’s how they make money on Service. Welcome to reality of business in the USA today. Just pick your machine and get an extended warranty from the manufacturer (third party warranties usually cannot or do not deliver on what they promise.) If you’re going to pay for an extended warranty, at least the manufacturer of the machine has the resources to stand behind their product - the third-party companies often do not. If you can use a compact laundry pair - then Bosch has the lowest number of service calls per thousand of units sold in the first, second, and third year after sales. But they are smaller than the big “standard” American Machines. Perfect for a small family but if you have five kids, they may not be workable for you. Good Luck. We have neighbors who have seven kids. They have three pairs of Bosch Washer and Dryer in the house. The older kids do their own laundry and the housekeeper keeps the other two pairs of washer/dryer humming with the household stuff and kids clothes, etc.
