[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like this washer. Just had a couple problems since owning. The 1st problem was the door wouldn’t open after wash and I had to look on YouTube to take off top cover and manually unlock latch and tighten. The other issue we’re low water error codes.

Bought brand new and just as others mention mold is bad issue, inevitable.

I hear buying a top loader washer is the best way to avoid mold. Not sure if that's true, but that's what I'm doing from now on.

All in all, I do think this is a good washer that I have been satisfied with. It just has a serious design flaw with the detergent drawer. I would notice mold growing on the drawer and would bleach it occasionally. However, it would always come back. I finally peeked inside the drawer housing...after 2 years... and found it covered in mold. The only way I could remove it was aggressively spraying it with diluted bleach with a direct stream spray pattern, sort of power washing it off. Now, I spray inside the drawer housing once a week with diluted bleach. This keeps everything clean and in order. No amount of using Affresh or the unit wash cycle will touch the detergent drawer. The bleach water spray is the only preventative solution. Whirlpool designed the perfect place for mold growth - dark, warm, wet, and lots of crevices. It is a microbe's dream.

I am a loyal Whirlpool customer as I have always purchased their products and found them to be well worth the money. I have a Load & Go washer which I have found to not measure up to the other products I have purchased through the yrs. I clean my washer once a month and still find that there is mold in my dispenser once I remove it and my clothes just are not getting as clean even when I wash with an extra rinse. I saw where another customer was having issues with the mold and I have tried what the rep. suggested about the bleach, but really I have done that several times and it never seems to stop coming. Should we really have to clean mold from our machines that are supposed to be cleaning our clothes. With that said, I have been very disappointed in this choice of purchase. My dryer works amazing, wish I could say the same for the washer.

After reading the reviews, I checked out my own washer expecting it to be fine and instead finding it full of mold. I have children with serious chronic health conditions and can only imagine how the mold has been contributing to their poor health.

Mold grows fast in the Load and Go Dispenser!! Its horrible. I have been cleaning and frequently and it's impossible. Very lousy design. I have used Whirlpool my whole life but this machine, when I bought was the best and latest... I'm totally disappointed. You can't stop the mold from growing inside the dispenser and you can't clean it either! LOOK AT THE IMAGES I wish i could return it... I have had it for almost 2 years and I should have send a review sooner to save others from this pain and waste of money. DO NOT BUY!!!

We bought this washer two years ago. It has worked fine - until today. This morning I ran a small cold wash and dried it in the matching dryer. Six hours later, in preparation for leaving for a week vacation, my wife tried to run a small wash only to find the washer completely unresponsive - the control knob wouldn't select anything. More significantly, the panel behind the control knob was extremely hot, so hot that it has discolored the selector face (see photo). We immediately unplugged the washer, waited 30 seconds and plugged it back in. Clearly, the circuit board behind the control knob is fried. This concerns me for two reasons: first is that this failure occurred in just two years of light use - there's just the two of us; second and more importantly, in our absence (on vacation) this might have resulted in a fire that could have potentially destroyed our home or worst case caused a fatality. I am extremely disappointed that Whirlpool's design doesn't include adequate protection (fusible link, hello???) to prevent such an event from occurring. I'm not likely to recommend Whirlpool products to my friends and certainly not likely to purchase another Whirlpool product myself.

I’m having allergic reaction to clothes because of the mold growing in the load and go trap. It’s gross, cleaning it very hard.

I made a mistake buying this washer. I have had it less than a year and within the first 6 months the load and go dispenser began growing mold. I would use afresh and bleach but it keeps coming back. I called the manufacture and credit card company but they say it’s user error because I’m not cleaning the dispenser enough. There have been lawsuits in regards to this problem and whirlpool continues to sell the washer. Now I have to look into a new washer. Suffice to say, I will not purchase a whirlpool! Don’t make the same mistake I did!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We’ve only had the unit for a couple of weeks, so far near perfection Pros: attractive, large drum, quiet, price for features Cons: the touchscreen is sensitive, sounds off if you lean against it. There is a lock so the unit does not start or cancel but the chime still goes off.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had my new washer less than a month and just love how it’s so quiet during the wash and spin cycles. I really like the load & go detergent feature as it saves time when loading the machine. Can’t wait to try the ‘wash & dry’ cycle. My husband is so glad that we finally own a Whirlpool washer (& matching dryer)!

Looking at this pretty load and go set will have you sold. I have a love hate relationship with mine. I love the large capacity. I love the look. I love the pretty noises they make during and end of cycle. I learned to work with this set to manage what I dislike about them. Its hard to read the writing on the machines especially the black lettering. If you buy these machines and the washer loads water loud have a service guy come out and he will replace something that makes them not as loud. Whirlpool according to 2 service companies relocated the something cutting costs and it causes more noise, but let them know and it will be fixed. Also I bought these for their good looks and Whirlpools reputation. I have no use for the load and go. Within a couple of months my soap dispenser was covered with mold. Even removing the load and go insert and loading it per each load didn't help. I called Whirlpool to ask them if I could exchange for another product not even being 2 months old and they said they stand behind their product. I would have to have a service tech for the life of the machines come out every couple of months to clean out the mold? I resolved this problem by leaving the soap dispenser open after doing the laundry to dry. It is very wet and sealed so well maybe that causes the issue? Issue resolved by leaving open when not using. Another issue I have with the washer is that the soap automatically runs right to the laundry as you pour it right at the very front of the loading door. So if you add laundry to the washer after putting in the soap it will drip down the front of the washer. It also causes a build up in the rubber drum seal so keep that cleaned out as well. I keep my option on low soil or it literally washes all the softener and soap smell from the laundry. Too efficient for me. haha Also these are big machines. The large stores make them just look average. We have the pedestals. Reaching over them to get into the cabinets is difficult and usually you will change the setting while leaning on them. Just something to think about. Whirlpool did replace a door that was damaged during delivery for no cost. I had 2 service guys out. One for the noise and one for the door. Both from different companies. Both had the same things to say. Whirlpool is great, but the load and go system not so much. I am glad I found ways to make it work.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased both the washer and dryer for our new home, and we are very pleased. I love the load & go feature and the ease of operating it. We definitely recommend the set.

One reviewer said that "I'm not crazy about not being able to change the laundry soap for each load." You can change the detergent with each load. Just take out the blue liquid dispenser and put powder washing powder in the dispenser as normal. Just put enough for one load. Please read your manual before complaining. I love the LOAD AND GO FEATURE.... LOVE LOVE LOVE IT.... JUST USE TIDE COLDWASH AND YOU CAN WAS DELICATES, TOWELS AND EVERYTHING ELSE. I have had it now for one week and all of my features work perfectly. What I love the most is that there is no metal plate on the bottom. Therefore, If I have to clean the drain filter, it is easier to get to it. Thank you Whirlpool for making that change. That is the reason I purchased this unit. My duet was only a year old but I didn't like having to take the entire front off. I love love love love this Load and Go washer. So far so good!! The spin cycle works excellent .. clothes are spinned so well they are almost dry. I am not sure who complained about the spin cycle but mine works Excellent. I also love the new look and that there's less chrome on the doors and the window to view the load is tinted. Sleeker new design, way to go Whirlpool. I have RA and I am glad the buttons are sensitive. I don't have o press hard like you're pressing buttons. Thank you Whirlpool for another great product. I am a long time Duet user and this one exceeded my expectations. Machine is not loud at all... Sound level during use is not loud at all... love that too!!

Purchased this from HD with the matching dryer and two pedestals, so a hefty purchase. They were received and installed on 2/22/17. I have followed the recommended instructions to keep the washer clean and mold free. I run the affresh cycle monthly with their proprietary soap blocks. And every towel or sheet load is run on extra hot as well per their recommendation. After every load I also dry off the door and pull back the rubber part on the interior to dry it then we leave the door open until we use the unit next so it fully drys. Now today only 7 months into owning the machine I am about to run a load for my toddler's clothes and it needs soap added. So I pull out the drawer and notice some black buildup on the top in a few spots. I pull the drawer out and as per the instruction give it a good clean. Then when I go to put it back I see the interior is covered in mold! This is unbelievable and has rendered the washer useless as I can't get in there and into the lines to clean the mold. And certainly can't run my family's laundry with mold in the machine. I called Whirlpool and they said they will send someone out to look at it, but it will be a week before their sub-contractor can come out. So now I'm sitting on a machine with mold in it and am doubtful the subcontractor will be able to clean it to comfortably use it for my family's clothes. I put a lot of money into purchasing this machine and a lot of time to "keep it clean" just to have this happen.

My wife and I bought this machine less than 2 months ago and it is working great. The only problem we have is that when my wife tries to put things on the shelves over the washer while it is running, she accidentally pushes the power button to the left of the selector dial and turns off the washer as it is doing a load. Some loads get really clean since they receive 2-3 washings. She came up with a little cardboard addition that prevents the button from accidentally being pushed when she reaches for the shelves. We would appreciate the lock button locking out all buttons it that is possible. We also would like the option lettering to contrast more with the background. Us old people can barely read it without our reading glasses and ample light.

Mold is building up in the dispenser drawer after 4 months of use. Nothing is mentioned within the manual about needing to clean this portion of the washer. I have used all the cleaning methods listed within the manual and the mold persists.
