Here in Missouri we get serious rain. Wooden door frames rot. Plastic does not rot. Enough said.

This is plastic and doesn’t include the sill. If you choose to buy this buy LOTS of wood shims because it’s like taming a noodle.

If you are getting tired of painting and/or replacing wooden door frames that are subject to weather, consider replacing with this PVC composite door jamb kit. Cuts easily and comes with complete instructions.

This is a great replacement to your existing door jamb or if you are building your own jamb. I had no issues routing out my hinge slots. The material did not melt like cheap plastic but rather acted just like real wood.

Great door jamb. Perfectly fit, no major cut. I just cut to length that fitted my door size. I only took me less than one hour to install.

Don’t expect it to ever rot, but it was meant to fit old 2x4 framing specs, not 2x6. Used it anyway, but surprised associate didn’t mention or ask.

Easy to work with, held up well to drilling, screws, unscrewing and adjusting, and reattaching. Very difficult to manually nail at all, and impossible to countersink nails manually. Construction screws worked like magic in pre-drilled holes though. Looks great, cleans easily. Directions weren't super clear, and I had to look up methods on my own. Side note: I needed to extend the sides a bit, and was able to use a clear PVC cement and some extra bits I need to trim off the top. Worked great! It was very difficult to chisel out the necessary holes for the latch and deadbolt, even with new, sharp chisels.

Having never installed a complete pvc door frame, I found the directions a bit confusing at first. The hardest part was getting the hinge placement just right. If I ever do another one, it will be easier. The brick moulding was easy and the entire frame system looks great.

This PVC door jam was good quality and should last a lot longer than the wood that needed replaced. Time will tell over all satisfied at this point in time.

Measure twice, cut once and everything will be fine. A great product. Replaced my rotten wood jamb and my metal door went into this jamb perfectly .
