I've gone through two of these. The fixture itself is fine. The valve seems to be a quality valve. The problem I keep having is with the plastic adapter for the tub spout. It keeps cracking causing water to seep behind the wall. I always know when this happens because mold starts growing on all the caulk. My second one just cracked in less than two years. It's really annoying because now I need to remove all the caulk (again), let everything dry out (again) re-caulk (again) replace the adapter (again) and hope this doesn't happen....again. I wish they would make a more quality adapter so I don't have to keep going through this. All in all, if I could go back and re-do everything, I would have installed a different fixture. I would change it out now but that is an even bigger headache because that would mean removing several tiles in the shower. At this point, I guess I'm just stuck with buying a replacement adapter.

I love my Chatfield sink faucet. It is beautiful and elegant. I bought the tub faucet to match, but it is a great disappointment. Not only does it not have the elegant lines of the sink faucet, but it is darker. I thought I just needed to polish it up, but that's when I found that it's PLASTIC and can't be "polished up!" I feel very ripped off that I spent money on a cheap piece of plastic. The water control part is okay, but still darker and a combination of plastic and metal. (I already had a shower head I like, so I'm not using the shower head.) I love the look of a nicely polished tub faucet. American Standard should be ashamed of themselves for selling us plastic when we thought we were getting metal.

Easy to install during remodel, looks great, works great.

This didn't work for me it was defected. I returnned it for another brand.

My contractor refused to put it in. He said it was plastic and would break in a year or less. He said his company used to use American Standard but they do not any more because they started making cheap products. He called it "crap".

Beware - Tub faucet piece is plastic but made to look stainless! Very cheap! Had a plumber install this, so too late to return. Wish I had opened it and inspected it before leaving the unopened box with the plumber. I expected a lot better quality from American Standard. Nowhere in the description was it mentioned that this piece was plastic - very disappointing! Do not recommend!

Tub spout is literally a giant piece of garbage. Replaced immediately because it is built so poorly. Should've went with Moen to begin with.

was easy to change setting on anti scald, life time guarantee. It is made for new construction so was a little hard to install in my pre existing situation.

Did not meet expectations broke in the midst of installation.

Although water comes from the shower head when turning on the water to run into the tub, I would still recommend this product because it's reasonably priced and has a nice looking chrome finish. Besides, I don't know if it was improperly installed by the person/ plumber I hired and that's the reason for the water coming from both the shower head and faucet.

I must agree with all of the other reviewers who were surprised by the amount of plastic in this set. Like several others, I too cracked the faucet adaptor (plastic) when trying to install it... I was careful, as I had read the other warnings. Very disappointed in the quality. Unfortunately, you only encounter this problem after having the rest of the valve assembly installed, thus making returning the unit almost impossible.

Good

Most of the material is made out of plastic, especially the tub spout. You can't tell from the picture. We tried installing it and the inside easily broke when screwing it on. Now, since the rest of the parts have already been installed there is no way for us to replace it. Very cheap quality. I would suggest spending a little bit more on another brand that is all metal.
