I've lived in a dozen houses, used hundreds of sash locks. Not one has broken. The metal latch has broken in half on two of these. Andersen "quality."

These were a perfect replacement for the hardware that originally came with the Andersen sash.

Well, it is an exact fit for the one that broke, making it a good buy. Pretty cheesy how the old one snapped and likely will need to be replaced more than once. Dunno why it is plastic, given the stress it endures and seems like a security issue as one could pry up on the sash and snap off the twist part easily.

A bit larger than original Sash Lock but installed and works fine.

Material construction is fairly lightweight plastic composite. It is nowhere near as robust and strong as would be imagined for a lock. Also, was trying to match the stone color from ~20 years ago, and this new stone color is not an exact match to the old stone color; from a distance it is acceptable, but close up one can see the difference.

Higher than original but fit perfectly to existing holes and works great as long as you install both new pieces.

I replaced a broken metal lock with this. "Composite" material is mostly plastic, feels flimsy, and I imagine will probably break within a few years. Very disappointing.
