Natural light with privacy.
It was easy to install. A bit of trouble because it comes rolled and can't stay flat and I didn't want to wrinkle or damage it by rolling it back the other way. Almost fit my sliding door perfectly. I had to cut 6 inches on the width and 3 on the lenght. Going back for the other side soon so I can finally stop using blinders.

      Nice result, quick
I purchased this yesterday and finished this up today. Now the window in our front dooris opaque and more private. Easy to follow directions. I used a credit card instead of a squeegee as another person suggested.

One of the easier window films to install!!
I have installed all different kinds of window films over the years and I tried this for the first time. By far the easiest to install and cleanest install. You always have to be careful the film does not stick to itself once you peel off the backing, but this film, even if it does accidentally stick to itself, it separates very easily and without damaging the film.

        Just what we needed!
I bought this product primarily to obscure the view from my first floor family room. We face a lovely active street in our subdivision with many walkers. I have four dogs who love nothing more to sit in the window and bark at every person, dog, child, twig and gust of air which blows by. We have a family member working nights and I needed something to block the view and cutting some of the barking so she can sleep. It is winter so I can’t yet speak to cutting up/heat thru the window but this is doing just what I wanted. It cuts the view without cutting the light which we enjoy. Looks great from both the inside and outside. Very easy to install, I feel I achieved a professionally installed look with very little effort.

This Artscape Rice Paper 36 in. x 72 in. Window Film Artscape window films has the look of stained and glass. Its a thin translucent film that provides privacy while still allowing natural light in. It is easily to apply to any smooth glass surface. They do not use adhesives and are easily removed if needed. They can be trimmed or combined to fit any size window. The images have a repeating pattern left to right and top to bottom and can be used either vertically or horizontally. These films provide UV protection and are the perfect decorative accent for windows that require continued privacy.

Excellent product that provides privacy and looks good. I installed this window film in my bedroom, the windows look directly at the neighbors house. I can now open the shades to let in the natural light while maintaining my privacy. I followed the directions and cut the film to the size needed, and was complete within 20 minute. A tip to future purchasers is to really wet the surface before applying, this will allow you to get the bubbles out easier.

The Artscape Rice paper is perfect for our exterior transom windows. The paper gives a nice subtle white hue, while also blocking harmful UV light. Installation was super simple and the film clings very well to the windows. This window film really makes a difference in reducing bright sunlight, yet also allows enough filtered light through so the room isn't totally dark. Highly recommend !

Sure looks like rice paper, easy to install and waterproof _____________________________________________________________________________________ Rice paper threads tends to run somewhat directional and this film’s pattern is too, so be sure to cut all pieces in the same direction. I couldn’t see the threads when it was on the backing so I figured the grain would run vertically along the roll so cut my pieces thinking the grain would run vertical. I was wrong. The longer threads run across the roll, but it’s subtle on a small window like mine. This film is quite thick. I find it easier to cut with scissors than a razor. It’s vinyl so you need a really sharp/new blade if use a razor. Cut slightly smaller than the measurements you get as it sits better when it doesn’t hit the side walls. The window must be generously wet to every corner and edge with soapy water. You can remove the entire backing and place it on because it’s so thick and easy to place and re-place. I used a credit card to flatten it down and remove air bubbles working from one corner to the diagonal opposite corner. Credit cards work better than a squeegee. You need something hard to really push the bubbles out. The film can take it. The corners and edges pull away a bit on two sides because the film holds the roll a bit so must push them back down again. The finish that faces into the room is matte, so it really looks like rice paper. The side that goes against the glass is glossy. Mine is in the shower and handles the steam and water just fine. It is whitish and translucent- cannot see a thing outside. Very nice film, and the roll is wide in a generous length!

This rice paper window covering was pretty easy to install. The hardest part was cutting it straight. My window was about 16" x 48", so it would help a lot if they put a grid on the backing to make cutting a straight line easier. It blocks seeing in and also adds a little heat when the sun is on the window. The instructions are helpful - READ THEM! Lots of soapy water is better, and using squeegee to get it centered and get excess water off is a must. I finished it with carefully wiping with paper towels when done.

Artscape Rice Paper Decorative Window Film adds both style and privacy. It's translucent image is visible through either side of the window, and the repeating pattern allows for vertical or horizontal use. I have used this product on several windows. The first window we did was the sidelight at the front door. We still get plenty of light through the window but can also see if someone is at the door. At night, you have complete privacy from the outside. In the summer, the front of our home gets the direct sun and it offers UV protection. The Artscape decorative window film can be trimmed to fit smaller windows or lined up alongside other pieces to fit larger windows. It is easy to apply using water and a squeegee and is not affected by heat, cold, steam or humidity. It is easily removed leaving no residue behind after removal. A simple weekend project that can give any room in your home a new look with the added privacy you need.

ARTSCAPE Rice Paper window film We were looking for something to cover an egress window in our basement. Home Depot Seeds program offered the ARTSCAPE Rice Paper. We thought it would be just what we needed. 1st measure all six windows and cut and mark size on film. Factory window frame has four different sizes, because of the window that opens and latch. 2nd Check window for any paint and scrape if needed. Wash window with a good window cleaner. 3rd Start at top, spray window with water and dish soap solution, Peal paper backing from top of film and apply to top of window, removing paper as you go. Squeegee out any air bubbles and water. 4th Repeat the same steps for the other five. 5th Go back over all six windows squeegeeing out any air bubbles and water, then I used a paper towel for wiping up any water. All done ENJOY.

The Artscape Rice Paper Privacy Window Film leaves only a subtle look on your windows while adding privacy or blocking out unsightly views. At a size of 36 in. x 72 in. it can work in a lot of applications. It's also helpful if you mismeasure a smaller window or don't cut square and have to cut another piece. I would recommend adding a least an extra inch to your desired dimension to have a workable piece. I found that taping it up while doing my cutting was helpful. Also, you can never have too much soapy water. Sometimes the corners and edges can be very difficult to seal if the edge has been cut jagged, there is any debris, or the film has been handled resulting in a curl at the end. (See the bottom edge of the right window panel) This is definitely a project for one who has patience and persistent, if you're as obsessive as I am for good results. In the end though, I'm happy with the final result.

Absolutely love this product. Its perfect for crafting, home decor, and of course window treating. One roll will cover 1 door or tall window, so if you are doing shower doors or sliding glass/french doors you will need 2 rolls. Because my glass doors already have tinted window film, I used it for home decor/crafting. Easy to use, draw on the paper backing, cut shapes, peel wet and stick. Be sure to clean surface to attach it and use flat surface to remove air bubbles and excess water. If the paper backing gets wet it will stick to the film, just wet it and rub and it comes right off. Tried to print on the film side but ink doesn't stay, made an emblem and address labels for egg cartons but the ink comes off.(see pics below). Crafting with it is easy. no harsh chemicals needed, just soapy water.

The product looks good and uniform in our bathroom. The pattern does resemble rice paper from side view. This "rice paper" film is of good quality. It will be a bit tricky to get rid of all the bubbles. This kit does not come with all the tools one will need to install. So, have a water bottle sprayer and a squeegee handy. We would give this product 5 stars if basic (plastic?) tools would be included. Otherwise - it's a good product and adhered well to our tempered glass. Word of advice - apply on a side of the glass that gets splashed with water. If water stains are present - clean the off with lime-based products first before applying this film.

This Artscape window film will allow you some privacy while maintaining natural light. With all of the designs available, you can transform any window into a work of art that will look good and save you money on your energy bills by blocking UV rays. To get a professional look on your window film; make sure you have all of your tools gathered prior to starting (see instructions for list). The first step is cleaning the window. It is imperative that you get it absolutely clean. Any specks of dirt will be forever trapped under the film if not removed. Next step is measuring your window opening. Then cutting the film to fit the opening, and a perfect cut is critical. The instructions say a 1/16th inch border is required so measure your window and reduce each of the length and width measurements by 1/8th inch (1/16th inch on each side). Use a new blade in your knife because a sharp blade is very important to getting a clean cut (any mistakes in your edge will be magnified). Fill an empty spray bottle with warm water and add a few drops of liquid soap. The soap mixture ensures good adhesion and also allows you to move the film slightly after you have it in place if needed. Spray on the soapy water liberally and, starting at the top, remove a large portion of the backing. Carefully apply the film to the window and smooth out any bubbles. You won't get all of the bubbles while applying the film but that's OK. Just get it up with most of the bubbles removed. As you work down the window, remove more of the backing until you have removed it all. Once you have it placed you can move it around slightly to get a perfect fit. After you are satisfied with the placement, you can go about removing the smaller bubbles. Take your time with this step. Start in the middle of the upper portion of the film and work the bubbles to the top and sides so the air and liquid can escape. It will take quite a while to get them all out, but you will be glad you did...even one little bubble will stick out like a sore thumb after the film is dry and at that point the only way you can fix it is to remove the film and start over. The whole process is really not that bad and it will last as long as you want. Once it is up it will remain attached to the glass for years, although the manufacture recommends changing it every four years because sunlight will cause the film to fade over time.

Easy to use! After 25 years, it was definitely time to re-do the windows in our garage. After removing the old vinyl window film, then scraping off the left over adhesive with a razor blade using just window cleaner, they were ready for the new window film.I measured the windows, cut 12 pieces using my paper cutter to insure nice straight cuts, then began to apply.Application was a breeze! Just spray with some soapy water, remove the backing and apply. Then smooth out any bubbles with a squeegee. The film provides a very nice degree of privacy without sacrificing light. The texture of the window film is very subtle and lends a little interest to the window.I prefer the rice paper design over just an opaque film. I was very pleased with the results and would recommend this to all.

The Artscape Rice Paper 36 in. x 72 in. Privacy Window Film is a great addition to block the view in and out of a window, for a move private setting. The install process is quiet simple-- Clean the window, measure, cut, spray water on the window, remove backing and place the cover over window, use squeegee film in place. You can see a great improvement in the privacy provided with the Rice Paper film cover. The only negative I found was the odor given off when opening the package. I had to take it out side for a while to dissipate the bad smell. Over all the Rice Paper film is what I needed for privacy.

I picked this up to put on a basement entrance door. We have a shade on it, but it blocks the light, and just doesn't look nice, and we have two small children, so my wife doesn't like having the long strings. I was glad to find this, both in a long size and also with a repetitive pattern. I was lucky enough that this was a large enough piece, but if you did need to add some extra somewhere, because of the pattern, it would be very noticeable. Installation was easy, I followed the directions and had no problem. Just make sure you have a spray bottle, and the largest plastic spackling knife or squeegee, and it was simple. It was easy to pick up and reposition as needed too. Looks great, provides privacy, and lets in more light than it did before.

This product does exactly what it is supposed to do. I used it on a basement bathroom window that has a pipe going past it. I wanted it to both give the bathroom privacy while also letting light through as well as hide the ugly black corrugated pipe that runs by the window. It successfully achieved all three of those objectives. The instal is very simple. This is window cling...it is not sticky on the back like some window film. This makes it easy to pull off or slide around on the window if you need to reposition it. I simply cut the window film to size. This is the most important step! If even the smallest bit is bigger than the window you will get an air bubble in that spot. I also recommend laying the amount you need on a flat in a warm room as this comes in a roll and this will help it flatten out. Next wash the window so there is NO dirt or particles on it. Then remove the backing from the film. Generously wet the window with a little soapy water and apply the film. I used a credit card to push out the water and air bubbles as I had two small windows and it worked great. The pictures are before and after in the morning daylight.

This window film works out great if you are looking just to add a decoration or just some privacy and is easy to cut down and apply to your window or glass door . My wife and I had been thinking about adding a window film for our bathroom window and it provides both privacy and an attractive addition to the window and still let in good outside lighting in the daytime .

Cant say enough good things about this product. First off, if you have a window that needs a treatment and don't want to use curtains, I think think this is the best option. Lets all the natural light in and looks really elegant and high-end. This is the third time we have used the brand of film and all have been easy to install and top quality. The film is thick enough to lay down nicely, comes with a squeegee, and the patterns are very tasteful. This rice paper pattern is perhaps the most opaque film we have tried. Figures close to the glass are barely distinguishable which is perfect for getting the light without sacrificing privacy.

Artscape Rice Paper 36 in. x 72 in. Window Film Although the door to our master bath does have a wavy glass pattern that obscures some of the image beyond, some members of our family are uncomfortable using this bathroom. I was looking for something to further obscure the image, but also could be temporary if needed. One side of the glass is smooth, and works with this rice paper design, it is exactly what was needed. The pictures below show that without the added rice paper the bath tub on the left is easily distinguishable, as is the vanity on the right. But with the added film the image is completely obscured. Problem solved! I was a bit worried that this film would actually be rice paper, and thus a problem with the created steam from the shower. But I loved this elegant pattern. Not so, it is manufactured with a pliable but quality plastic film encasing the design, and I expect it to last for years!

The ARTSCAPE RICE PAPER 36 IN. X 72 IN. WINDOW FILM is attractive and so very easy to install. I have used several Artscape window films and have found them all to be exceptional. They adhere to the window and stay in place for years. I have even put Artscape on front windows that have extreme Arizona sun and have had no peeling or loosening at all. Artscape provides a convenient level of privacy that is affordable and easy to self install. I recommend this product.
