It went on smooth and covered well. I don't know about durability since I applied it only a week ago. Also, it is on a fountain; so we'll see.

Hi Nama1,

Thank you for reviewing our Masonry, Stucco & Brick Paint. As it turns out, it's not recommended for fountains or areas submerged underwater. I strongly recommend using a marine paint when it comes time to recoat.

Kindest regards,

Doris Behr

I had this paint tinted light gray, and purchased it with a five gallon tub of the same in white. I painted my ugly concrete patio bright (two coats) and then used one coat of the gray with a stencil on top of the white (see pic). The paint is high quality, so far no bubbling or flaking (3 weeks and lots of 90 degree weather later) even though it's on a concrete patio that gets lots of wear and tear.

Great product, covered well. I used it 12 years ago and it had no signs of scaling or peeling. I just wanted it to give it a refreshed look. I used white on the parging and navajo white on the brick. Very satisfied!!

It is not a true gallon on paint
Although the paint itself went on nicely. It does not cover what it says. This so called gallon is only 126 oz. which is two ounces short of a gallon. That may not sound like much untill you buy in bulk. We started with two 5 gallon buckets which were actually 4.92 gallons. $99 each. We were short only a few feet from the end of our project. When we went back and spent another $23 for 126 oz of paint, not the full gallon I mentioned above, we only used about and inch of the can. So at 2oz short per gallon times 10 gallons, that equals 20 ounces of paint that probably would havd finished our project. Thanks Behr for shorting the unsuspecting public and making us run out to the Home Depot when we were so close to finishing and getting more money out of us.

This stuff is really great, my only complaint is that they don't sell smaller containers of this stuff. I bought it to paint a small fireplace and am left with 3/4 of the can left. It took about two coats to get it completely covered, but I wanted to make sure it was completely covered. I used a regular paintbrush, although a smaller sponge brush may have worked better.

I don't think it's the product, it's more likely the mix/prep machine not working right. My somewhat supposed to be tan/brown house turned out to be pink or rare prime rib color. But that wasn't as bad as the Behr Granit Grip paint I just got. It was pre mixed. I got the tan for my driveway & walk (4- 5 gal buckets) and the grey (2 - 5 gal buckets) for my garage. The tan showed a driveway on the bucket as did the brochure, and the grey showed a garage w/ a corvette in it (like mine) on the brochure. After I put the product down and let it sit roped off for 2 weeks, I drove on it. In the garage and on the driveway the cars left tire marks and drive line trails. The tan really showed badly but the garage was just as bad. I also have a HD motorcycle in the garage. The kick stand scratched off the cheap paint like it was still soft. I used a floor jack and it pealed off the paint and bubbled it up too. So much for garage grade. And I have tire marks (parked and driving lines) all over my new driveway. Looks really bad. Home Depot & Behr, not sure who's worse.

            Hi Behry2unhappy,

Wow- sorry to hear about your negative experiences! It sounds like the color change may have been due to alkali burn (typically happens if new concrete/masonry doesn't cure for 30 days). To fix this, I'd recommend cleaning the surface with vinegar and water (50/50 mix) to help neutralize the surface. Once clean and dry, prime with the NO. 436 Primer and recoat. As for your driveway and garage floor: the product will be more stain resistant as it continues to dry and harden. Until then, the tire marks can be cleaned with pumice hand soap and water; a scrub brush/stiff bristle broom can be used for tougher stains. Once the surface dries, any bare concrete should be etched and touched up. Please reach out to us directly if you need help along the way. Best, Jeanette P. Behr

I first painted my fireplace with the Flat Finish Masonry Paint and it covered exceptionally well. I did not even use a primer. I decided I wanted a shinier finish so I used the Satin Masonry Paint for the second coat. Great product. Great finish. Great coverage.

              Great paint!
We have a back wall in our yard with cinder blocks. I didn't like the look of them and wanted to match the slate on our patio. So, I had the idea of making them look like slate. Worth a try--in order to save money. I bought this Behr Masonry, Stucco, and Brick paint in the colors that would match our slate. It turned out better than I thought and for A LOT less than having someone apply slate to our back wall. So happy with Behr products!!! Then sealed it with Behr Masonry Waterproofer.
