This sander was good at first, but I think the quality is very bad. With minimal use I noticed it became louder than it used to be. Also, the pad that holds the sanding paper has the worst quality ever. It has started peeling off after minimal use.

Quiet and very effective. Cut my sanding time by half and the final product looks great.

Heads Up: Mirka Mesh Abrasive Dust Free Sanding Discs fly off. I've had to cement a more aggressive "hook" tape to existing pads. Other than that it's a great value and well made.

I bought the Bosch ROS20VS to replace an old random orbital sander that I could no longer control during sanding. I don’t know what was wrong with it, but it was easy to tell it’s had its day. So, I was particularly excited to get this new sander. The bottom line is that it’s really nice to use. I find the Bosch easy to control and relatively quiet, and best of all, it does a really nice job of sanding, leaving very few sanding marks on the surface of the wood. The little dust collector attachment seems to work well, but it’s a pain to remove and clean it. An adapter comes with the Bosch so you can hook it up to a wet/dry vac, but my vac has a large (2.5”) hose, and the adapter looks like it’s for a 1.25’ or 1.5” hose, so I haven’t use it. Overall, a nice addition to my workshop.

I purchased this sander to replace my Ryobi 1/4 sheet sander. I found the unit to be well balanced and powerful. It operates smoothly with almost no vibration. Very little dust when uzing 80 grit paper to sand pine stock. To my surprise the bag included an adapter to attach my shop vac hose directly to the sander. When used in this configuration there was ZERO dust created. The vercro held sanding pads firmly with no slipping. This is the best sander i've ever used!

The Bosch sander was very smooth and it allowed me to produce an even surface on a kitchen table that I am refinishing. I have only used it for one project so far but I expect to get much more use out of it. I am also considering purchasing the extra soft backing pad to refinish some chairs that have curved surfaces. The included dust collection worked very well.

Quality sander at a great price. The stock dust collection is superior to anything else I've seen/used on a random orbit. Very smooth start up and shut down with minimal vibration while in use.

I have one of these purchased in 2016 that works great. Purchased a new one on 5/6/2024- no power, darts all over the place, and barely spins the pad, even with the speed turned all the way up. Exchanged it and the exchanged sander barely rotates the pad leaving nasty pigtails all over the place. The difference between the two new ones and my old one is night and day. IF you can get a working one, it's fantastic. Best guess- these have bad speed controllers and aren't running at true full power.

Powerful and very little vibrations, very good dust collection, good ergonomics. High quality.

I bought this orbital sander to sand the top of a 5 foot diameter round Oak hardwood table. It worked perfectly to smooth out the joints in the Red Oak slats.

My other ROS by a different name came apart, and since I was working on a project for a client, I had to get another sander. I decided on Bosch after doing light research. So far, I am pleased with this unit. It has a nicer palm feel than my old one, and seems to go and go just fine. I needed to sand a pair of end tables, mostly to scuff sand, and this unit did the trick. Time will tell as to the longevity of this unit compared to my other one that's yellow....hint, hint.

I tried an assortment of wood working tools with limited success. This orbital sander is outstanding. Love the vacuum attachment and easy velcro 5” sanding pads. The pads are available at most stores and universal pads will work perfectly.

Works well. Feels good in hand. The built in dust collector works surprisingly well. It accepts standard 5-inch 8-hole sanding discs, widely available. Although it has a variable speed dial, I have only used it at the fastest setting. The sanding results were excellent - no sanding marks left at all.

I loved the other two Bosch sanders I've purchased in the past but this one is quite another story. Of coarse all the reviewers fall all over the big makers and usually they're right. It seems there are plenty of others over the years with the same problem I had with their small sander not doing a very good job with power behind the sanding pad.

Fits my hand well and feels good with low vibration. It seems to rotate slower than other RO sanders I've had. When you turn down the speed the secondary rotation will stop with any pressure from your hand.

Runs smooth, quiet, low vibrations. I love it for finishing work.

Have only had a very short time but so far I like it. Much better as far as reduction of swirls on use. Good dust collection with self containment or vacuum hose.

I bought this for a project that we needed two sanders. I already had one that I liked. After an hour or so, it started to make a whining noise. The next day I exchanged it for another and it appears to be functioning properly. Exchange was super easy…

Minimal vibration, excellent range of speed.

Used it to refinish table and chairs. Did a great job!

I bought this Nov'23, but did not get to my project until June'24. So basically a new sander. I was sanding teak chairs after about 5hrs the sander stopped working - motor burned out.
