The product is excellent

The stairs were easy to install and look very good. I hope they wear as well as they look.

This product worked exactly as advertised and my client loved the look after we finished. Easy installation for my installers who finished in one day.

Unit had slight defect on one end, but since I only needed a 35" wide piece, I was able to cut off the bad area. Would have liked more of a "hand scraped" finish to match the Pergo laminate.

I did like the color however, the product arrived damaged with a long scratch that was highly visible. Product looked poorly made. Where the two pieces are joined together it seemed loose like it would crack when stepped on.

The riser was well worth it. It was a lot thicker than others on the market. I worked very well with Cap-A-Tread.

The Tried worked very well and hopefully it will wear well also very easy to install!!! Good alternative with engineered flooring!

Fairly easy to install if you take your time. They look nice but we were told they match the Pergo XL line in case you have to do a landing. Well, they do in color but not texture.

I chose this product to replace the 6 year old carpet on my stairs. I had to purchase 15 of these which came close to $750. I chose to have these shipped to the store and they came in two weeks earlier than the expected date. Out of the 15 two came in with visible damage on the boxes they were shipped in and only one of those had actual damage which was a three inch cap on the end of the tread. This was not a problem because I was cutting 9 inches off the end anyways but Home Depot still gave me a 25% discount on the two. Installation was quick and easy and exactly like the instructional video shows. I chose an 80 tooth saw blade to cut them with which gave me a nice clean cut with no chipping of the laminate. I chose to custom make my risers out of a 4X8 sheet of 3/4 inch MDF which saved a lot of money over buying the risers from cap a tread. My stair treads are made from 3/4 inch OSB subfloor and the cap a treads covered them perfectly. The color and texture of the laminate is close to the pergo coffee flooring but not a perfect match. Overall other than the costs I am very pleased with this product and the service I received from Home Depot.

I purchased this product and the riser to match the Pergo laminate flooring I was having installed through Home Depot - thinking that the quality of the "Pergo" name would be carried over to this product... I was wrong. 50% of the product received was damaged and as a special order the leadtime was 3 weeks in each instance - because of the product issues I had to reeive 3 orders over a 10 week span - living in an unfished construction zone during this timeframe. If you're goign to risk purchasing this product, by 3x the amount you need to protect yourself. The product either had visible scrtaches, cracks, dents or an ugly white streak down the length of the cap-a-tread. No one at Home Depot knew anything about the product or the vendor. The stairs look nice aesthically, but I have huge concerns over the longevity of the product. As the previous reviewer describes this product is a 2-piece construction that looks very weak. I do not trust that two piece joint (stairnose) to last overtime in a high traffic area. In 3 weeks of normal use I have discovered a large, deep, crack/dent in one stair - will try to find a dark putty to fill (caulk didnt work) - but does not bode well for the product overtime.
