So, it was pretty easy to put up - however, the stations seem to fluctuate a bit. It is outside and not very high off the roof about 23ft is our main pole mast - and about 4 ft from the roof. All in all, it does a decent job I get anywherr between 44-52 channels on any given day. I might use an amplifier down the road, but for now it should be fine. Prepping the main-mast took the longest and getting a game plan together really is essential before mounting it. It took us about 30 minutes for me to set on our roof and dail it in as best as we could...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This antenna picks up every channel within 50 miles of my house. I have it in my attic and attic and the signal strength is almost as good as on the roof (that CC&R’s prohibit). I highly recommend this antenna for all you cord cutters.

Across the lake roughly 60 miles nbc cbs, ABC, Fox, and PBS, and all subs Snr approximately 75%. Using hdhomerun (stronger tuner than tv) and tvmosaic Live software)

Installed with RCA Preamplifier. Picking up 28 channels. All but two have 4 bars on reception, two have 3 bars. 4 is maximum. This is at 50 to 60 miles.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought a Winegard elite 7550 after speaking to a winegard rep and reading the great reviews, got only 6 channels, the same amount as the window antenna on the wrong side of the house facing the wrong direction, was an amplified antenna as well. Returned it and bought the DB8e, now have 13 channels without an amplifier, going to buy an amp now to see if it gets even better.

I have this inside my attic at the moment, but am working to move it up to the roof. There was a BIG difference between having this on my first floor and having it up another 10' higher inside my attic. I suspect I'll see even more improvement once it's outside on my roof (again, another 10' higher). I got a LOT more channels than I expected, based on the signal map! I do recommend a pre-amp if you are trying to pick up weak signals... that made a big difference too! I will come back and change this from 4 stars to 5 stars if I am able to pick up the NYC stations (70 miles from me!) after this goes up on the roof! Fingers crossed! But I am already getting stations that are about that far away (I'm in Poughkeepsie, NY and I am getting CT stations from Hartford and New Haven!).

First we went with a firestick for our programming but I missed my local news, weather, and sports reports. So I chose the DB-8e, mounted it on the roof and now I get 1 channel (FOX) on VHF (remember this is a UHF antenna). The reason I only get 1 OTA channel is my location. I live on an island 2 hours N. of Seattle (~60 mi. from any transmitters). Several hills and tress to interfere with my reception. When I first installed and scanned for channels I did get my local CBS channel but the next day when I tightened everything down for the last time it wasn’t there...haven’t found it again after numerous tries. St least I have 1 local channel. We have had this up for about a year now with no other issues, but I am contemplating a signal booster or a taller mast and trying for more channels. The overwhelming majority of my tv comes from the firestick and that’s good for us.

The antenna was so strong, I really didn’t need the pre-amp and other amplifier. It came on time and was all I hoped it would be. I for sure would deal with antennas direct another time.

The best part is the ability to face the antenna wing in two different directions which is needed in my locale. It easily picks up 58 channels with crystal clear clarity. I think this is the best HDTV antenna for the money.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] the design/material of the antenna makes it possible to be fasten to the pole firmly. before installing the whole thing on my roof chimney, i tried on the ground, the received TV signal was excellent.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When the local Fox affiliate sold to another station we lost those channels due to being broadcast from a different distant tower. The dual antenna allowed us to direct one of the antennas to pick up the signal, and we now get all broadcast channels.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] tired of fighting with dish for years i cut the cable and looked for the best of the best long range antenna.I found it with antennas direct.AS a kid i would help my dad (a tv repair man) install antennas.with the DB8e no need for a rotor. here in jonesborough T,N. were pullin in stations from bristol V.A., ashville N.C.,greenville T.N.,grundy V.A.,kingsport T.N.and sneedville T.N.32 channels.a wind storm did some damage and parts were replaced no problem(no cost).thanks antennas direct.if there is a signal around this unit will find it.

The DB8e consistently picks up a channel I was having trouble with before and provides 5-bar reception for nearly all channels including those 30+ miles away. The antenna also looks good. Very happy with purchase.

I live in a reception blind spot but this antenna is picking up more stations than my old one and it is a stronger signal even though I have houses and trees in the path to the broadcast towers. I still need to use an amp but I am in a very bad location. Great antenna!

This antenna got lots more stations but not the ones we wanted, not the fault of the antenna but our location.

We completely unhooked from cable and went with this HDTV antenna. Very pleased with our decision. My friends and neighbors are going to do the same thing.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Hooked up the Antenna to my TV and it scanned in 36 crystal clear channels! live 40 miles from TV stations and antenna is aimed into trees and hills and it still works great! am saving $1450.00 a year from satellite company.

I wanted to upgrade from my original antenna to the db8e hoping to receive more local network channels . Unfortunately , that didn't happen . But it is more attractive than the other, so I'll keep it for that reason .
