I’ve used several of these plates over the years. It’s definitely the way to go when bringing coaxial cable down in the walls, to make a nice connection to your TV. On my current application (see picture) I have two cables coming down, one for the satellite signal, and one for an antenna. I’ve got a couple comments on installation. 1. Use a stud finder, to locate the studs near the area you wish the bring the cable down. 2. Cut an opening in the wall where this plate will be located. 3. Drill a small hole in the ceiling directly above this cutout. Push a stiff wire through the hole, so you can locate the location once you are in the attic. 4. In the attic, drill a ¾” hole through the wall’s top plate (usually 3” thick) 5. Feed your coaxial cable down this hole, pull it through the opening. If you can’t snag the cable, you may need to push an electrical fish wire down the hole first. 6. I believe code wants you to caulk the ¾” hole after your cable is through. 7. Push a little plaster in ceiling’s location hole, to finish that up. Home Depot sells “low voltage” box, which is ideal for this, and easy to install. I know some people just screw this cover plate to the sheetrock, but I certainly wouldn’t recommend it. The box allows the initial hole to be slightly larger (handy to locate the cable), plus the screw socket will be considerably more robust.

You should purchase these if you are in need of a coaxial hookup. I bought these in bulk and threw them where ever I plan on using a TV in the future. 2.4 GHz which is standard. Very easy to instill. Comes with screws for a good secure fit. All you need to do is make sure you have a fitting on the end of your coax cable and it just screws onto the back of the plate. Nice and easy.

Product is well made and is much sturdier than the cheap wall out covers you buy from websites. The 5 packs are nice and are priced better in bulk. Screws are cleverly attached to slots on the back DJ they don’t get lost. Attaches easily to new and old work boxes without any issue at all. Definitely recommend these making adding new outlets for tv or internet a piece of cake.

This is a good looking, high-grade Radio Frequency (RF) Coaxial cable outlet plate, with back to back low loss threaded RF connectors, so there are no difficult and signal degrading solder or screw terminal connections to make. This is the same current technology commonly included in both home and commercial new construction to serve the latest computer equipment, facility networking, home automation and entertainment equipment as well. They are available in many configurations, from a single coaxial cable terminal like this one, to multi outlet types that include USB and telephone cable jacks as well. They are very easy to work with and install, being little different from the standard electrical outlet plates and associated parts that many homeowners have already gotten comfortable and competent in working with. This fine product also includes not often seen molded-in, handy rear panel mounting screw retainer clips to prevent losing the hardware before you mount it, which happens, at least to me. This class of electronic and communications wiring wall plates are designed to work seamlessly with the same standard metal and plastic electrical wall boxes your house wiring already uses. The Commercial Electric Wall Plate is rated to provide excellent high speed, low signal loss performance in the 2.4 Gigahertz radio frequency band, where much of our current home computer, video and audio equipment operates, but only if you match your equipment performance with up to date cabling, connectors and outlets capable of keeping up with it. Upgrading equipment like this and if necessary also replacing outdated wiring makes it a very attractive upgrade for the home computer and entertainment system owner, who has like most of us, become frustrated that the upload/download speed and that “snappy” computer page turning and audio/video viewing performance our home systems are capable of and that our internet providers claim to be delivering to our door at substantial cost, just isn’t there. This is very often due to poor quality and poor performance from some of the older cabling and connecting hardware we may have in use that is not keeping up with fast moving technology. I will be using this high-performance wall plate with a run of new, much better quality, very low loss and highly signal interference cancelling RG6-U, double shielded 75 Ohm Coaxial cable between my living room computer modem and the cable service junction box outside. While you can make your own exact length from a coil of cable, preparing and crimping on the required connectors yourself, I prefer to purchase a factory-made ready to go cable, a good selection of which is available on the shelf at Home Depot, with high quality connectors already professionally attached. It is just a matter of selecting one that exceeds the length of your required cable run by as little as possible, routing it and plugging it in at both ends.

I got two of these for our home we have them in several of our rooms. The original ones that came with the home were not top of the line. These have the plate screws included in the packaging. The coax connecter is high quality. The connector not is embedded into the plate so that it won't twist and loosen up while trying to install or remove the coax cable from the plate. The cover plate itself is made of strong poly material that won't break or warp. Instructions(if needed) are simple and easy to follow. Finally a great connection to my wi-fi and entertainment system

You should consider adding drywall anchors appropriate for the BOLTS that are included with the plate. I had an RG6 cable coming inti the room from the exterior and the coupler would no easily fit over it. I had to return to the store to buy replacements for connectors for the three plates that I bought. It wasn't very cost efficient, but it got me there.

I bought two of these, and I had the same experience as other one-star reviews with both of them. The white plate looks fine, but the actual coax connector is faulty - it transmits the signal if you just barely push in the coax cable, but once you thread the cable on the barrel for a secure fit, it loses the signal. In the end, I used these plates, but I threw away the coax adapters and replaced them with a two pack of Ideal brand F-series coaxial cable adapters.

Easy to install. Too bad it only comes in white. Other than that works great

I bought two of these wall plates. One was installed just fine, but the hole in the second plate was unfinished and the wire from the cable wouldn't go in far enough to screw the connection.

Before installing 4 of these our reception was fine.
After we remodeled now working on finishing touches, we went through and eliminated excess cable length that came through the wall. Everything for computers, TV reception antenna, phones...surveillence cameras. Everything was working fine beforehand. Drug all the cabling up the walls and through the attic down to the permanent locations. Beautiful Job! until we turned on the TV. No reception. After hours of back tracking we replaced the brand new Commercial Electric Coaxial coupler that is in the 4 brand new coaxial wall plate we installed and everything is fine. I do not recommend this product!!
