this is easy to use, just roll it out press into cracks and add heat from torch. fills cracks real well even if the cracks are not completely clean. already ordered more of this. we have tried the pour type filler but this is much less messy and easy to store.

I just applied the crack stick and need to wait at least a year to see how it performs. I now plan to apply a sealer over the drive way to finish the job. The application of crack stick is time consuming but i hope the repair last for years.Bill C

Stuff seems to be tough as nails. Once applied, dries to a hard glossy surface. Similar to plastic. My only concern is will driveway sealer stick to it, or should I apply a primer first? Hopefully, I can get many more years out of my driveway.

Crack stix works great
This stuff is great at permanently filling cracks. If you have many though it can be time consuming to melt.

If this product were more pliable is would be easier to use. It's hard to make it stay put in the cracks, but once it does stay in place it does a good job of sealing asphalt cracks.

Purchased this product to begin to repair a drive we have had for about 13 years. I wish I would have started found this product a couple of years ago before the cracks in my driveway got really bad. This product does the job. Not really labor intensive but it can be a little time consuming. I would recomend purchasing the torch extension and using refillable propane tanks. I found the small refillable tanks at Home Depot while looking for other things. They are a must if you have lot of cracks to fill.

none of the cracks in our asphalt are straight and are very jagged. So i went along with a footing stake and cleaned them all up,which opened them up perfectly for the material. It is very much like oxy-actelyn welding, making sure material is completely fluid and in the crack and filled to right heighth.Finished crack looks very profesional and appears to be tied in well to edges.Looks and feels like it will hold up.First time we have used Crackstix

        Perfect asphalt sealer
Amateur homeowners working on private road for 37 homes. Put down about 2.5 buckets. We used hand held propane torches (commonly used for plumbing). Once we got our technique figured went down well and so far we are very pleased. No cracks have opened back up.

          Blacktop crack hot filler
Product works well for larger cracks....not as well for small cracks. It would be great if maker could lower the melting point of the product somehow....then it would work well and much more easily.

Easier than the medium 1/2 inch
I can hold the torch and literally feed the 1/4 " on top of the fine cracks with my other hand. It melts fast. Superior like its big brother the 1/2 inch

            Works good
I used a larger "weed" killing torch rather than the smaller plumber torch. Melts quicker. Since it was late fall the product was stiff so I had to cut it up in small segments to follow the broken lines in my driveway. Otherwise it's like a stiff snake and would stay put while I melted it in the crack line. The good thing is once you get an area with warm material in it you can quickly lay out another piece quickly and not have to cut it in pieces...as the sticky first piece holds the next one on top while you heat it in. I found the two complete line melting process to be the best finished job overall.

            Best Crack Sealer Yet
I have a huge driveway and had some severe cracking over the past few years due to the drought here in California and tree roots. I have used all the other crack sealers in the past because it seemed like the quickest fix but all have failed miserably. I looked up crack stix on the internet and you tube videos. Now this looked like something that may really work as one consumer showed his success for a two year period and a redo was easy. So here I go I used 750ft (yikes) of crack stix. Yes I have a large driveway on 5 acres with 20 years of cracks. The directions said to push the stix into the crack then melt it in. Well cracks are not all big enough to fit it in. So I stretched it to thin it out till I got blisters on my hands. This stuff needs to be made into 3/16 to 1/4 in diameter. I cut it into 2 inch lengths and split it down the middle too much work. To make an already long story shorter I gave up on trying to thin the material out and cut it to random lengths of 1 to 2 inches. When cutting into pieces the scissors became gummed up with the material so I put the crack stix into the freezer for a while then it did not gum up the scissors when cutting brilliant idea on my part. I laid it on the cracks and melted away it did not all go into the cracks but so what it did fill the cracks with the excess next to it. Now the next question would the driveway sealer stick to this stuff. Sealed the driveway yesterday 18 buckets worth and it covered nicely. Used airport grade as from previous experience the expensive stuff does lot last longer than the less expensive sealer. Took a long time but very happy with the results I can see these cracks will not return soon ready for the godzilla el nino.

              This stuff works.
I purchased this product after some online research and reading the Home Depot reviews. I had tried sand and that liquid tar stuff to fill cracks in my drive but nothing really worked. Even had it professionally coated last fall but that the cracks reappeared. So I have tried this product and it does fill the cracks. The thin wrap around the tar rope really helps keep things clean and not all stuck together. The main thing I would recommend is to use a small propane torch to melt it into the cracks and smooth the surface over which it flows.
