Only 2 years old. Spring keeps coming off and once it does you need to try to find and with 13 ACERS not possible you keep riding and when you look behind nothing is cut. Don't waste money and most of all your time and energy on this machine.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Beat mower I have ever owned. I was a little hesitant because of the bare bones look, but it actually helps with cleaning, noise and heat. My neighbors were so impressed that 3 of them went and bought themselves one within the last 2 weeks.

This review it not about the Cub Cadet with the 25 HP Kohler that is listed above. This review is about Cub Cadet with the 24 HP Kawasaki that was being sold as a clearance item. I live ~60 mile from this HD so I schedule my trips. Was going to be in town on other business so decided to check it out. Mower was a little weather worn (dull paint on body and seat) from sitting outside. We couldn’t get the mower started but I liked the clearance price so I decided to make the purchase. Told the HD personnel that I would pick it up the following morning. Figured that would give them plenty of time to get it up and running. Showed up the next morning with trailer in tow ready to pick up my mower. First bad sign is the mower was sitting in the exact same spot as the previous day. We went through three batteries and could never get it started. I decided to get my credit card refunded and walk away. I’m still shopping around for a mower but definitely being more selective where I make my purchase. I will add the HD personnel were very helpful and apologetic throughout the whole process.

drop shipped at the end of a 1/4 mile driveway on a pallet, no instructions / manual, no labeling for engaging drive train, no fuel in it - a ridiculous start to use of a relatively expensive purchase. The mower turned out to be good, but I will never buy a large piece of equipment from Home Depot ever again.

ZT2 60 mows very well and operation is easy.

Enjoying every moment of the mower, compared to my 50 inch ZT1 Cub cadet which is not a 0 turn. It takes me about 30 minutes instead of an hour and a half. More time to do other things…

Wouldn’t start. Couldn’t jump. Bad battery. When I get it running, I can give a better review. Looks nice.

Sad day. Spent a ton of money to replace my dying Kubota (first mistake) and get this cheap fliimsy plastic parts mower delivered today. Unfortunately, it was dark when i got home so I couldn’t take in the true cheapness of this nearly $5k, yes $5 of wonder. Will drive it in a few days when it stops raining. Sadly, not looking forward to it. Home Depot, get ready for a return.

The mower worked for 1 now then broke

Item description is for the older specs of the ZT2-60. As another reviewer stated, the hydros that are on this model are changed. This arrived with the Tuff Torq TZ350 hydros. They do not have the fill tanks and filters as the ZT-2800 hydros did. I wanted the serviceable hydros, and as they are shipping now, they are not. Cub Cadet: go back to the serviceable hydros on these mowers and you will sell boatloads of them!! Sadly, I had to leave it at the store.

I bought a new ZT2-54 in May 2021. It has lots of power and cuts well. Two issues. The blades are wearing very fast. I only cut about acre of grass. The more serious issue is related to starting the cutting head. When it has not been run for a week or so when I pull the button to start the mover it shakes and vibrates the whole mower and frequently stalls the move regardless whether the engine is revved up or not. Yesterday, it stalled the engine five times before the mover started and the engine stayed going. All summer it took at least three or four tries before it didn’t stall the engine. When it does attempt the mover there excessive vibration and shaking before it operates properly.

It has been in the shop for a week and I have not heard back. I really wanted to love this mower, but when you use it 3 times before it quits, it’s hard to love.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Bought last fall and it is such an awesome machine. Fast, excellent cut, and hands down better than John Deere. Wish I had one years ago. Can't find enough grass to cut as ot's so nice to use.

Every time I submit a truthful review they delete it. It appears they don't want potential customers knowing that the blades are soft metal and wear out quickly. I am being told I cannot get blades until mid August. They will probably delete this review also.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Research several and settled on this one. Second year on this and here we go. Blades......junk, plain and simple. Been a machinist better part of 2 decades, soft steel at best. Seat is great, but shock absorber ain't much to brag about, feel all the bumps. Deck has more grass on top after mowing than yard. Why so many holes, but it's well build and strong. Rear tires, not much count. Another china made fit-all. Great pull a hill. Had front tires bouncing going up, but down any slight grade, it'll run off and leave tracks. Switching to Ocelot tires. Hydro- gear motors....great. Easy to service and plenty of power. Just buy 2 overpriced filters and Castrol 20w-50. Kawasaki motor...another great one. Just blow out the air filter regularly and your rings will last a very long time. Manual deck lift and height adjustment, can't screw that up. Just a key, blade switch, throttle and chock, pretty simple, nothing to break.No fancy fenders to rip off either. Just a plain mower. Yelp......I'd buy it again

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have owned the ZT2 54 for 7 months now and have 51 hours on it. I can mow my 3.5 acres in about 2 hours with quite a few trees. I do have a pretty good hill coming up from the lake and it does a good job treking it. I do have to sharpen the blade about every 10 hours or so but i have a second set and just swap them out and sharpen them later. Overall its a good design. I would make a few minor changes such as much brighter lights as you can faintly see about a foot or so in front of the machine with the stock lights. Needs an adjustable grass chute, over time the plastic chute sags down and clumps grass instead of spreading it a few feet. Rear tire size does not have many options for tread pattern, i could use a little more aggressive tread such as the reaper tire but i have only been able to find the stock tire or a full on super aggressive mud tire. Armrests need to be height adjustable, my arms never touch them. Gas gauge. Gas gauge. Gas gauge. It would be nice if Cub Cadet would have a string trimmer mount for this machine.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I bought the ZT54 from the dealer in Westlock, Alberta. Best investment I’ve made for my acreage. I have approx. 5 acres of rolling hills and obstacles. This mower cuts about 4 hrs of the time it took me to mow with a conventional lawn tractor. It is very easy to operate and is very stable on the uneven areas. Love it.

This thin g eats blades like nobody's business! IF I COULD FIND A SET, I would be putting the third set on in 15 hours. Because of the "S" shaped holes, I cannot find good quality after market blades. No one else makes them with the "S" shape. I am at the mercy of the cheap stamped OEM ones. Which are un available anywhere I look!
