Works great! I ordered the Graystone color first to cover my way to silver grout used on my new front porch tile, but ended up reordering the New Taupe and it was perfect. Both turned out to be a shade lighter than the way the swatches appear on both my phone and desktop computer. Do yourself a favor and buy a regular $1 bottle of Elmer glue to replace the cap for super easy application.

Works well with a little elbow grease
Like others, I recommend an Elmer’s glue cap to apply the product. I applied the product to the grout and then rubbed it in with a toothbrush. I waited a few minutes and then wiped up the excess with a paper towel. Any that had dried on the tile came up with a little more effort with the paper towel, and if it didn’t, I used a plastic scrubber meant for dish washing. I started with the color “Bone,” but it was still a bit dingy, so I started over with “Arctic White.” Note that this is for cement grout. It does nothing for plastic grout. In the pics, there’s a mid-process one that shows the difference between “Bone” and “Arctic White” pretty well.

Goes on easy and looks great
The white grout we had started turning brownish/yellow. A thin coat of this stuff made it go right away. Instructions on bottle are not too informative, but we ended up using a tiny paint brush to apply. The consistency after shaking is akin to Elmer's glue and for our non-gloss/glazed porcelain tile it was easy enough to clean off without worry. We did about a 4x4 (16sq/ft) area at a time, then just used Q-Tips to clean off whatever got on tile while applying.

      Grout Renew is True
Purchased a condo with existing tile that looked like it had not been cleaned in 25 years. Spent days cleaning the Grout with Hydrogen Peroxide and brush, while this improved the flooring it still looked poor. Decided to give Grout Renew a try since I had nothing to lose. The product went on easily with a toothbrush, wiped the edges with a paper towel, and had immediate results. Looks Fabulous! Today, I added a second coat due to the high traffic areas still appeared a little dark. The Bone color went really well with the color of the tile. The only thing I would do different is use the Bright White for the first coat and then use the Bone Color for the second coat to try for a more even look ... (due to the high traffic areas of old grout - not the product). At the time of purchase I didn't know I was going for 2 coats. 1 Bottle completed 2 coats of 1300 sq ft condo with 20 x 20 inch tiles with the wider grout lines. This product works as described and I would recommend to anyone who want to spend tedious hours improving the look of their tile. For the $15 and the many hours of sitting on the floor I am very pleased with the outcome. Other websites state a Grout Paint can last 3-5 years. Lets hope that is true.

        DOES NOT WORK
Don't use this. I followed the instructions EXACTLY. Purchased the haze remover , brush etc etc. Let it dry overnight and the next day tried to do a few joints. Fortunately, I did the area under our sink cabinet, where it wouldn't show and boy was I glad. The results are exactly as the worst reviews indicate. It is paint, not stain. It does not penetrate the grout, it just lays on top. When you try to wipe off the little bit you get on the tile, it takes it off the grout. On the off chance you do not have to wipe off any overlap at all, when it dries it's uneven in color and the grout lines are uneven in tone. Very, very ugly. I'm glad I kept in under the sink. There could be a way this works, but from what I can see, it's very, very specific circumstances that most will NOT encounter. Great idea, not so great a product! The attached photos, really don't do it justice of how bad it really looks :(

          Absolutely AMAZING!
I am not one to write reviews usually but... I am so pleased with this product I just couldn’t help it! We bought a house almost a year ago and I’ve been saying since we moved in how much I hate the tile throughout the kitchen, laundry room, half bath and halls. I’ve been wanting to get them professionally cleaned and the grout redone but that’s not cheap. I stumbled upon this product and thought I’d give it a shot. If it didn’t work I’m out $14 and a little time. I did my laundry room first because if it didn’t work out oh well, no one goes in there anyways. It looks like a whole new floor! The more grout I do the more excited I get and the more I want to do! My kitchen is pretty big so I have a lot left to do but already I’m telling everyone I can about this product! It’s simply amazing! I’m using a toothbrush like recommended. It sounds tedious but it really isn’t and for my flooring it fits perfectly in the grout lines. I’ve tried several methods for cleaning up the extra and I’ve found a dry cloth rubbed lightly over the tile works the best! My tile is forgiving so if there is a little over it’s not obvious so this may not work as well for everyone but it’s been super easy for me.

I bought this product in the hopes of restoring the grout in a 1920s bathroom tile floor. It didn't work for this purpose. The grout lines were too narrow and shallow to apply the Grout Renew. I suspect the grout also may have been too worn or perhaps wasn't grout at all but something else they used back in the day. However, the grout renew worked fine on our more contemporary kitchen floors, which is why I'm giving this 5 stars. The problem was with our vintage floors and not the product itself.

Easy to use. Take your time and work in small areas for best results. Used tooth brush and cotton swabs for great coverage.

                  Don't rush for best results.
How you apply Grout Renew and the time you take in doing so really seems to makes a difference. I used an artists paint brush, and due to irregularities in how my tiles were set 25+ years ago, painted one tile at a time and wiped up mistakes as I went. (The paint and wipe off with big strokes from a rag method didn't work for me because it took off the paint on the grout too.) I suggest working left to right and top to bottom if working on a wall/ tub surround so that you avoid touching what you've already done. It took several hours to do my tub surround, but I am pleased with the results. I am also following the recommended wait time of 72 hours before getting the walls wet in hopes that it will help with the longevity of the results since it took so much time. This was a low cost way to freshen up our tired looking bathtub when replacing the old tile wasn't a feasible option.

                    Unbelievably simple with great results
So easy to restore the grout color! Phosphorescence makes the grout look dirty no matter how much you clean the floor. This project is actually fun to do! Wish I found out about this product years ago.

Do not use on subway tile
Incredibly difficult to apply and remove from tile. I estimate treating 80 square feet of subway tile at my current rate to take about 40 hours and even then there’s still remnants and specks which need to be scratched off with your fingernail. Absolute garbage.

                        Super Easy!
Pros: very easy, very inexpensive, looks great Cons: hard to determine correct color, samples pics/labels aren't exact, only way to know is to sample on floor - which could get costly. 5 hour project completely transformed and updated grout. Very easy to apply - I used the blue tape suggestion and an artist brush - available in a small assorted set in the paintbrush section at Home Depot. Worked right from the bottle - no extra container needed. Cleans very easy with water, and doesn't run or bleed through blue tape, so clean-up is really easy. Did the whole room and still have about a quarter bottle left!

These are 2 different clients houses I've used the product at. Amazing transformations. The one house had plain color tiles and it looks like we put new floors in now. The other house the colors in the tile really pop now.

Spent forever scrubbing the grout with different cleaners meant for grout and could NOT get the stains out. Spent several hours painting this stuff on...but it was worth it! Amazing difference.

I used bright white. It says a bottle does 80 sq feet. My lanai is about 160 sq ft with 18 inch tiles. I still have some product left in the bottle. Looks like new grout. Hope it washes and wears well.

After thoroughly cleaning the old grout, I put a layer of Custom Building Projects Custom Warm Gray Aquamix Grout Colorant on the grout but decided it was the wrong color so I purchased this Polyblend Snow White color and layered it on top of the Aquamix. Since it's from the same manufacturer, it went on perfectly. I used a paint brush and cleaned the tile along the way. It did take about 6 days to do two coats but it now looks awesome. I feel like I have a new floor! The color is great and is holding well and I'm very happy with it.

                                    glazed ceramic tile
Let me start off by mentioning that our house was built six months ago. We have a little over two thousand sq ft of tile we needed to recolor because we chose white grout and we have four dogs. We have ceramic glazed tile and the best way i found to do this was apply it with a toothbrush and let it dry for three days before going over it with a scouring pad to remove it from the tile. Doing it in small sections and wiping it away would just take too long for my liking. It comes off easily on the glazed tile

Excellent product, very helpful tips on timely reviews
This was my first time restaining grout. The tips written by Kim T and Kirsten definitely helped me. To them I am most grateful. I replaced the cap with an Elmer’s glue cap and that delivered a fine line of the grout. You don’t need much. I used my grandchild’s tiny watercolor brush instead of the toothbrush to smooth the grout and get it into corners. I sprayed rags with rubbing alcohol and wiped the excess off the grout and cleaned the tile with this a few minutes after applying the grout. I had the bathroom fan on and was afraid if I waited too long it would dry. I did a second and third wipe with a clean alcohol sprayed rag to make sure the tile was cleaned of any grout. I used Bone. I am so happy with the results.

THIS STUFF IS AMAZING. It completely changed the look of the bathroom in the condo we just bought. I still have over half a bottle for touch-ups--though, according to reviews, I won't need it. I've been recommending this to everyone I know. I applied it with the smallest two of these brushes (Unbranded Angled Artist Paint Brush Set (4-Piece)) and used a damp rag to wipe off the excess from the tile. I ended up doing 3 coats because the grout had been pretty dark. It took some effort to wipe my messy painting of the Grout Renew off the tile, and I was pretty lazy about wiping so I'd also wipe some off the grout when I tried to get it off the tile. Oh well. It looks so great now. I was undecided on which color and ended up just getting the only light color that my Home Depot had in stock because I was so eager to get this done! Looks so fresh now.

Easy to use but color in the bottle is much lighter
I used grout renew and loved the ease of use. I followed the recommendation of swapping out the cover with the Elmer's glue cover (easy since Elmer's glue was selling for $.50 due to back to school sales). Using the glue tip made application easy because I squirted a couple drops along the grout line and then painted in using a toothbrush. I avoided major clean up by taping off my grout lines. That part was tedious but worth it because there was no clean up involved at the end. My first attempt I used the color Bone. Bone appeared to match the grout color in the areas that were not stained by dirt. However Bone was way too light and I didn't like it at all. So my second attempt I used Haystack. Much better and the look I was going for. Too bad that the color example on the bottle is way off compared to the color in the bottle. I wasted a couple of hours with that mistake.

I’m going to save you a lot of time. This product is awesome! But...when you apply it to the thin white lines on your grout you WILL get it on the tiles. Put a coat on, let it dry for about 30 min (it doesn’t take long), then wipe your tile with a sponge with a little rubbing alcohol on it. The sealer comes off the tile but not the grout. Then revisit with the same steps.
