Upon opening the bucket of paint, the texture material is sitting on the bottom. It took a lot of muscle to stir the paint to bring the texture upward. Then I used an attachment on my drill to thoroughly mix the paint. Don't skip this step or your roller will leave heavy, uneven patches of texture in your surface. I applied the paint as directed using the roller that came with the paint and a deep paint pan. I am very pleased with the results. I'm a female do-it-yourselfer, so don't be afraid to take on the task. The paint is still drying in this picture, but the final result is terrific.

Deceiving picture
Not even close to the advertising photo. The added color flecks are not even noticeable. If I would have known that, I would never have bought it. Misleading. We went exactly as the instructions say.

Harvest - Result is very Disappointing
Result does NOT match the texture or color as shown. Does not roll on smoothly or evenly. 1 Gallon does Not cover 100 sq. feet of concrete. Very disappointed with this product. My uncolored concrete looked far better.

      RollerRock and Rock on!
Highly recommend! Worth the expense and labor! These products exceeded my expectations and complete transformed a 1940 porch that had been covered by outdoor carpet! The concrete was in prefect condition minus the adhesive that would not nudge!

Color Matched Perfectly I Love it!
Paint is thick so make sure you buy enough to paint two coats. I love the color. It rolled on my patio so smoothly.

Harvest tan is great color. Brightened up my backyard! As the product clearly states, it does take two coats. The first coat looks splotchy until it’s coated with 2nd one. Then the color really shines! It’s thick material. I used the suggested roller and it worked well. I also kept the product stirred and it gave an even color.

The coating performed as expected, but the color didn’t match the samples. This is true for two other colors as well. Tan, Slate and Lava all lighter or bluer than expected; not like samples. Image is Lavarock Gray.

Rolled on smoothly and looks great! Let dry for 24 hours and did a second coat. (picture is after 1 coat). Bought 15 gal total to cover all our backyard concrete and deck around our pool. Color is lighter than manufacturer's picture shows.

Very disappointed. The website picture shows colored flecks like rock. The finished product has no colored flecks and is more blue in color. Now I'm going to have to get something else to cover it up to blend in better with the surroundings.

Took Multiple Coats - But pleased overall
4 Stars because the color wasn't what I expected and it was much thinner and took more coats than expected. Overall I'm very pleased with how this coating turned out in the end. Our foundation was dark brown, and this coating is much thinner than I though it would be. So it took 3 coats to cover the brown. I used the roller for the first 2 coats and realized it wasn't applying a thick enough layer. On the third coat I used only a brush and really coated it on there. The roller provided a nice textured finish and since I used the roller the first 2 coats the texture shown through on the 3rd brushed coat as well. The color was a bit more grey than it seems in the picture to me. Very cool tones while the image in the picture seems a bit warmer to me. I got this color thinking it would be more of a natural concrete color but it looks a little too grey to me. Its way better than the brown and it was a lot of work to prep the foundation and paint 3 coats on it so I'll just stick with the color it is for a while. Our house is 2000 square feet (1 story with a basement) so the foundation is that of a 1000 square foot house. The exposed concrete foundation averaged about 2.5' and 1 five gallon bucket did three coats. Its a multi-day process, I allowed the coats to dry for at least 24-48 hours depending on the weather. I plan to do the suggested sealer this weekend.

For me, it did not work. I am a doityourselfer. I heard them on a radio program, then I watched their videos. I followed the instructions that came with the materials. It peeled off 3 months later. It turns out, I did not prep my concrete correctly. I needed to acid wash it and apply a primer. These steps were news to me after it peeled up. A professional painter would probably have known. it is expensive so I recommend hiring a professional. The company had bad customer service and they are in Canada so I was limited on my recourse, but Home Depot took great care of me.

            Renewed my front steps
Power washed the steps, filled in any holes with epoxy putty and covered it with the Roller Rock and then the top sealer. On the old concrete it has held up well. On the new bottom concrete step, it only lasted 1-1/2 years and requires a re-coat.

Follow all manufacturer’s instructions and prep the surface as described in their literature. I had bought an oversized paint tray, to keep mixing the product so the stone doesn’t settle at bottom. Ask the paint department to mix containers once you pick them up, I’m sure that helped too. I had ordered a little extra and was able to get 2 very full coats and coverage was not an issue. The Hi-Build Ultra sealer went on easily as well. Extremely happy with install, even I didn’t mess it up, and the end result is a great looking pool deck. After months of looking at different products, and years of looking at the original faded concrete finish, I have no regrets in going with Daich RollerRock. Time will tell how it holds up, but pretty certain with proper cleaning and care, the finish will last for many years.

Bad quality, waste my money and labor. I bought "Self-Priming LavaRock Gray Exterior Concrete Coating" and "Semi-Gloss Clear Coat Sealer Hot Tire Chemical Resistant and Water Repellen". Followed required procedures. After an week, the coating is broken and dropped in many places. I only complete the half of my front driveway. I do not know how to finish it.

Surface preparation is paramount BEFORE rolling on the product. I've seen some negative reviews and bet is poor surface prep based on their own photos in their reviews. Also, two coats are highly recommended. I did a 18x20 garage that has a polished smooth surface stained over 15 years. The company recommends muriatic acid. We applied it twice at full strength to etch the formerly smooth surface. We then ran a floor machine on it with diamond blades as "insurance" it was profiled properly. The rollerrock is extremely thick material and does not spread easily with the rock roller I bought from Daich. It won't flow into small cracks. We had to use a paint brush quite often for any cracks for rougher sections of the concrete. Also, the rock does not spread evenly. It often left rock heavily in some areas and little in others. The material was paddle mixed every time we reloaded our paint trays. The only time we could match the picture is when we poured some directly on the floor then spread it with a foam squeegee then went over it lightly with the roller, but it used too much material, so we stopped that procedure. We used 7 gallons for the floor of 360 sq feet for two coats. For my garage it was fine and I was happy with the end result except for the uneven spread of the rock. My buddy took the remaining 3 gallons to do his back patio. I will use their Spreadrock not Rollerrock on my driveway but I'll hire a professional to trowel it after I do the prep work.

I ordered 2 gallons and it was not like the instruction videos at all. There was no way I could pour it and apply it with the roller. It was so thick that I had to apply it like cement patch. I thought it was because I didn't mix it right. Anyways, it turned out kind of rustic and streaky with inconsistent color. I was going to settle for this. I did however need to order another 2 gallons. When I opened those 2 gallons I saw a HUGE difference. I was able to mix it and apply with the roller. I said to my husband. THIS is how it's supposed to be! I now think there must have been something terribly wrong with my first batch and I need to find out how I can get in touch with the company that can ship me 2 more to replace the defective so I can make the 2 halves of my patio look the same!

No problems in applying the product, but I have experience with these products and the average homeowner may find it difficult the first go around. Highly recommended a clear coat sealer on the product. For pure looks and finish I rate the product a 5! But we are using the product in Wisconsin's winter climate and the claim of durability in high traffic areas is not substantiated. We are only getting one year of use, this is the third application of the product and I am hoping that next year we will only need spot touchups and sealing going forward.

Overall it met my expectations. My concrete was in bad shape so it took a little more than I expected. I had to patch the cracks as best I could before applying. Considering the alternative of the cost of a brand new slap I am pleased with the outcome. The prep is very important for the outcome. Power wash is a must.

Just finished putting down this color (IVORY) on my large back patio. The little black specks significantly DETRACT from the appearance, since the RollerRock foam roller distributes it very unevenly (despite stirring the 5 gallon bucket properly using a heavy duty drill and ~5" wide stirrer before each pour into my rolling pan). I cross rolled frequently, but the foam roller spits out a high concentration of them every once in awhile, so an area has a noticeably heavy distribution of them. Once down, it's very hard to hide them with another coating. I might have had more even results had I followed the advice of 1 other reviewer, and my contractor for a front step project he recently did, had I used a 3/8" nap roller instead (replacing the roller "every 100 ft"), but I wanted to see how well RollerRock's foam roller worked. The black specks are less noticeable, and evenly distributed on our front porch, and it looks great. Neither the other reviewer or my contractor said why they recommended not using RollerRock's foam roller (or "prefer" not using it) , but I think this may be why. 5 Gallons covered ~450 sq ft well with 2 coats (over similar older patch stain, despite product instructions). Ivory is very bright, which will reduce radiant heat, but you'll need sunglasses when sunny it's so bright.

I am extremely impressed how durable this product is. I read all the reviews about coverage problems, but if you realize that it is extremely thick with the primer added that it just takes time to lay it down. I used RollerRock around my pool deck due to slippery concrete that was stained from not being sealed. RollerRock covered all the ugly satins and gave excellent traction around the pool patio area. I will buy again!

It’s unfortunate, the product information and reviews completely mislead us. We are completely dissatisfied. The end project looks ugly, we feel the concrete surface was much better than the painted surface. The paint did not help us giving a better look / feel. We followed the application procedure meticulously every step. This product does not give the texture that is shown in the pictures / product description. We bought 5 Gallons for a 300 SFT Patio Concrete Floor. It did not cover the space completely, at the end of the project we could not achieve uniform texture throughout the surface as product was insufficient, though the surface is not a porous surface at all. We wasted our money, the same could have been achieved just by painting a gallon of ordinary Patio Paint which doesn’t cost more than $30 from Home depot. We have chosen this Product to get a WOW Patio and spent 6 times higher price but ended up having not so different patio floor from a bare concrete surface.
