I bought this yesterday and already took it to work. The battery had been fully charged and the gun struggled to remove 100 ft/lbs torques lug nuts from numerous vehicles. I do believe in Dewalt and own one of their 3/8" impact. I've found this product to work just as, if not better than expected. Due to this, I am going to talk to the store which i bought it from and ask to swap. I hope this to be the singular product malfunction and not the product as a whole. I wish to post another review with better regards in the near future.

The drill was easy to assemble and the power it has works well for what I need.

Like others, since purchasing this impact, I have had no need to use my high-end air impact. There is plenty of power in this to perform any of the automotive tasks I would typically use the air impact for like removing lug nuts or engine/suspension/brake disassembly. Given the ample power, I am always surprised how long the battery lasts. I have never needed to change batteries in the middle of a project. For example, I used this the other day to swap out summer tires for snow tires on three vehicles. After all of that the batter was still basically above 2/3 state of charge. The only point of contention I have with this impact, is that the forward/reverse button is too easy to bump. I frequently end up shifting it from reverse to forward when holding the impact, without intending to do so.

Works great. Used for Drag Week changing tires on the race car at 5 different race tracks over 5 days on a single battery.

Excellent tool used a friends at work liked it so much had to add one to my tools

Used this wrench to do a drive axle replacement the spindle nut was removed by this wrench with no problem. Usually have to use 1/2 inch breaker bar and 3 foot cheater pipe this job is much easier now.

Awesome addition to the family! Breaks lug nuts easily. I am looking forward to finding something to challenge it with.

Has a lot of power

After shopping all the brands I decided to go with dewalt since I have other dewalt tools and really like them . Plenty of power on high . My only issue if any is that the low setting is a little to low , about 40 ft lbs or so , next is 130 or so. Need an in between . Glad I got the hog ring .

I was slightly disappointed in this impact. Coming from using very expensive IR industrial quality tools in a previous job, in comparison this impact is definitely of a lower design quality. It seems like it is built well enough, but the layout of the direction switch places it in a location that it will be accidentally switched while using the tool, and it takes very little effort to manipulate it (either intentionally or unintentionally). The speed control is also very poor. It has a programmed ramp rate that builds as the trigger is pressed, effectively un-linking what your finger is doing from what the impact is doing. This makes precise control of the torque very difficult and has resulted in more than one broken fastener for me. The ultimate torque is very impressive for an electric impact though, and I doubt you'll run across much you can't bust loose (or break..) with it. It's also massively heavier than most I've used and this would make a difference to me if I was using it every day. It would be great for occasional use, but if you're making your living using it, save up and bite the bullet for an IR or similar, because there is a definite difference.

So far, it does exactly what I want and need. Does have quite the loud clatter especially when tightening with a torque stick. Otherwise very happy!

The dewalt impact wrench does exactly what I need it to do.

Had this too for a bit. Its very handy not having to run around with a air line, however it is very underpowered compared to what is advertised. I have a small trucking company, and routinely deal with 500'lbs + bolts. It is nowhere near breaking bolts lose or as tight as advertised.
