As others stated, the base no longer has threaded area to mount to tripod. Extremely disappointing and false description. I bought the light and separate tripod to light up work areas. Returning both and looking at Milwaukee options as they also have corded power option in addition to battery. I was already tempted to go with Milwaukee, but own so many Dewalt tools that it’s hard to justify cut over. Since they also have corded power built into their battery powered light, it will be easier to transition. I own 1 Milwaukee battery, but starting to look at more of their options and migrate over. The light really sent me over the edge since EVERYWHERE it says it’s compatible with the tripod, but actually is not. Shame on Dewalt.

I bought this light to be mounted on a tripod. The manual shows two threaded inserts located on the bottom of the light, but neither exists. This really changes the function of the light for me in a negative way. All the advertising shows it mounted on a tripod along with the manual. Come on guys, total false advertising here!

Super durable.This is my first tool in switching to the dewalt platform from Makita as well as Milwaukee . BUT…it has no tripod mount for a tripod which I bought separately and specifically for this light and was the feature that sold me on this over the Milwaukee.

I bought this lite (and Dewalt tripod) a month ago. The lite itself is bright and useful if you only want to hang it. But it is advertised as being able to mount to a tripod. But there is NO means of mounting it - certainly not any standard 1/4 x 20 thread mount. Now it's too late for me to return either and I can't use the tripod

This product does NOT have tripod mounting holes and as indicated in the manual. It cannot mount to a tripod as indicated in the pictures.

The light does NOT come with, nor can be mounted to a tripod like the pictures suggest and the manual indicates. Not cool.

It does exactly what I needed it to do. Larger than I was expecting, but still portable.

This led light is very bright. Very durable and smartly designed. Great product!!! Worth its weight in gold!

This area light is amazing! The versatility of being able to set it up in a bedroom, kitchen, or bath really helps out a lot because it literally brightens the whole room. The battery life is pretty good on the highest setting but make sure you have a couple extra charging if you are going to be using it all day.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] DCL074 is a great light, it provides the best lighting when hung from the ceiling. The light has a great run time when not at the highest setting around 10 hours. When at the High setting expect to get about 3 to 4 hours of run time on a 6-amp hour battery. The downside to this light is the tool connect. The control stopped working after sitting for three days of non-use and will not reconnect. Had to take it in for support to get the issue resolved. Other than that, this a great light that that can handle job site tough conditions. Would have given this light a 5 star rating if not for the tool connect issue.

Our office building lost power and we needed to get to the main fuse box and pump room. We needed our hands free and for our safety a lot of light.The Dewalt All Purpose Work Light did just that! It was bright as daylight not the yellow glow you get with other work lights. No cords to trip over. You can laid and hang practically anywhere. With a tough cage it took a couple of hits without compromising the lighting. The battery compartment is a plus! You never have to worry about your battery being lost or coming off. I use the DCB205 battery with it and it when 2 hours straight and it still had 3 bars. The battery compartment can hold one DCB205 and store one DCB203 battery. Or it can use one DCB203 and store 2 of the same batteries.Granted the Work Light can have a bit of weight but that's always a good thing. It means its durable. Let's not forget the awesome feature of Tool Connect to track it down. I Highly recommend this Work Light. Its durable, tough and reliable. I loved it so much that i purchased the DW0737 Heavy Duty Tripod to go with it. Try it you won't be disappointed.

Worthless. Without a tripod it’s useless. Will look elsewhere

I bought this light with the intention of mounting it on my Dewalt tripod. This light does not come with any mounting ability, as other reviews have stated. The advertising has not been fixed several complaints and years later. I am disappointed in this product and Dewalt.

One of the major issues I encountered with the latest version of the DeWalt Portable Work Light is the absence of tripod mounts. Contrary to the previous model, this one lacks the essential feature of tripod compatibility. What perplexes me further is the fact that DeWalt's marketing materials prominently showcase images of the light mounted on a tripod. This misleading representation has left me feeling deceived and dissatisfied with my purchase. Additionally, I would like to address the inconvenience of the current model's power source. Unlike many other work lights on the market, the DeWalt Portable Work Light does not have the option to be plugged into an extension cord. This design choice forces users to rely solely on battery power, necessitating frequent battery changes throughout the day. This inconvenience is not only impractical but also disruptive to the workflow, especially in situations where a continuous power source is crucial. While the light output of the product is commendable, especially when elevated, I have encountered difficulties in its placement in certain environments. In rooms with finished ceilings, the rafter clip provided is rendered ineffective, making it impossible to hang the light securely. Instead, users are left with the cumbersome task of placing a ladder in the center of the room and either setting the light on top or suspending it from the top step. This workaround not only compromises safety but also adds unnecessary complications to what should be a straightforward setup. In light of these issues, I find myself contemplating the decision to include the DeWalt Portable Work Light in my next garage sale. The frustration stemming from the lack of tripod mounts, limited power options, and challenges in placement has significantly diminished the overall utility and satisfaction I expected from a reputable brand like DeWalt.

Very bright light. Good quality. Works perfectly for a location with no easy access to electricity

This light is fantastic and provides great lighting but I'm super disappointed that an advertised feature is not included in the product I received. I needed this for a job where we are finishing a ceiling and wanted to affix it to a tripod. The product images and information show that it is compatible with a tripod and I went so far as to check the base of the floor model, pleased to see that it could accommodate two tripod thread sizes. When I open the box at the job I found it did not have any tripod mount capability...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think this will be a great work light. I bought this because it had the tripod mounting feature and tool connect where as Milwaukee does not. I also have Makita and Milwaukee cordless platform and was looking forward to breaking into the dewalt cordless platform. But without the tripod mount I may return it as well as the dewalt tripod that I purchased for the light.

Wish I had read the reviews before I purchased two of these lights. Intended to mount them on tripods and like the others found out, there is not a 5/8 inch mounting hole to be found on either light base as advertised. That really sucks DeWalt! You let me down on these!

Great but get good batteries 10ah last all day on medium setting

This is a great light, but Dewalt really missed with not making it capable of charging a battery while running off power cord. Other than that it works really well and is bright, which is what you want in a light.

It is kind of big, the 4 arms around the light are not protected with rubber( They should of ), it is heavy, price point close to $200 a little expensive

Last a long time on a 4amp battery. Love the Bluetooth technology.
