I needed it for an outdoor job and the laser dot was not visible from even two feet away and I needed to measure 9 feet. Not useful outside. Returned it.

This is such a great little carry item. Looking at 6 ft distancing for Covid, and also measuring all kinds of things. So very compact and stores in the pocket without being bulky. I have already demo'ed and recommended it to others.

DW030PL versus DW055pl
I just purchased a DW055Pl on Nov.12th 2020. It's product listing will not allow a review to be written. It appears to be a updated version of the DW030PL. It is listed at $19.98 versus $39.98 for the DW030PL. It works very well. The product manual isn't very good, instead download the manual for the DW030PL.

Have been using for about a month. Does measure within a quarter inch accuracy. Easy to use and attach to toolbag or tote. Great for real estate use. Screen is a little small, but then the unit is also small.

Too tiny to read
It is cute but not useful. The led is not backlight well and the fraction of an inch is so close to the bezel and so tiny I can only read it in good lighting conditions. Not useful for any construction work or anyone's middle aged eyesight.

Not always accurate sometimes I have to mesure 3 or 4 times also being so small the led screen is hard to see and read other wise it does work but not as well as I would like

Works great. I do real estate appraisals so I am measuring interior and exteriors of property off and on throughout the day. The battery holds a charge well so I can keep working with no interruptions. Wish they made more laser measuring tools with a rechargeable battery.
