Generator works very good

Good well designed and built unit. Assembly not difficult. Starts and runs great. Quieter than I thought it would be.

The last storm took out my power lines and it took 3 days for Atlantic to hook us back up. This beast kept my heat, water and just about anything else I needed running. All 3 days non stop. The only thing I couldn’t do was run my shop vacs and oil heater with the dryer running clothes dryer while we had the heat and shop vacuums running. (Basement got wet). We got flooded so the shop vacs had to run.

Easy to get up and running

I have lived off grid for 14 years and use generators daily. I've had gasoline generators like this one last over 6 years before. Not this one. This one is terrible and I don't reccomend it to anyone ever. I tried three different times to purchase this generator. The first one stopped working after 10 months. The electronics were shot the idle control was faulty, and it just stopped producing power. I bought another one because it was the only one they had this size, right out of the box it was messed up, it would not run at all with idle control on it bogged down under minimal load, so I exchanged it. The third and final try, got the third one home, same issue, won't run with idle control, I said whatever and kept it and ran it without idle control on 31 days later the engine SEIZED, brand new, full of oil, and engine seized up and generator is now trashed and unusable. Never had a generator seize before even with thousands of hours on them. This one had less than 100 hours. Complete junk, DO NOT BUY THIS GENERATOR!

It started using oil after one week

It exceeded my expectations

Open box, assemble, connect battery, and fill with clean gas. Then I open the oil fill to pour oil into crankcase only to find it’s already full of oil. (Looks like SAE 30). It comes with a quart of oil and they tell you to make sure and add oil to crankcase. Now I have to drain the oil in the crankcase, because I live in Alaska and need 5W-30 Full Synthetic oil because of our cold climate. So after changing the oil I find out battery is dead on arrival. But pull starts easy. Now chargin bat.

The salesman was very helpful and assisted in getting the product to where we could pick it up and they loaded it for us! Very nice experience with everything !!!Now we have got to get it all put together and we will try it. We bought the same model a year or so ago have used it and no problem.

This generator works great. Good product for the money.

"The Dewalt 6500W generator I bought is falling apart. Breakers, handle, and legs failed. Don't recommend it. Home Depot's customer service unhelpful, won't return it despite being under a year old. I've used Honda generators for 30 years, simple and reliable. This Dewalt experience disappoints me. I request Home Depot to fix this. I've been a loyal customer, but I might reconsider."

This worst generator we have ever owned. We use it to run water to tanks from shallow well. Been doing it for 20 years. Bought a deqalt to replace a predator generator that lasted 4 years and within 7 months had to replace carburetor. Ran decent for another 3 months and now won't start again. Save your money and but a predator or any other type of generator. I have a cheap champion generator that is still running after 15 years.

As a contractor with 30 years of experience, I strongly advise against purchasing this generator. It failed to last even six months, and Home Depot refused to accept a return. In contrast, my 15-year-old Honda generators continue to outperform the Dewalt 6500 W model.

Haven’t used it in “anger” yet, but it was easy to assemble and started on the first pull. So far very happy with it.

Preformed as hoped ! I would recommend this highly!
