Customer Reviews for DEWALT #8 Countersink with 11/64 in. Drill Bit

Drilled about 12 holes in pine before about 1/4” off the tip broke off. I can still use it but I have to force it which probably won’t end well. I saw some similar reviews and treated the bit very gently even though I’ve bought these in the past and never had an issue. Not consistent with the high price or Dewalt quality I’m use to. If there’s something wrong with the heat treat on a batch you need to pull it from the shelves.

This item failed the first time I used it. The part that is held by the drill chuck is not secured to the drill bit. It must be pressed on and it came off. They should of made that part and the counter sink as one.

Tip broke off and embedded In my project after only a couple of uses. Dewalt will not replace Since it is beyond 30 days. Absolute garbage.

Broke on the 2nd hole drilled. Shank popped right off drilling through plywood.

For a dewalt product that you pay a premium for its embarrasing that they would make this bit so cheap 3rd board on SOFT PINE it snapped on me definitly do not reccond switching to milwakee their new bits are alot stronger

Terrible product! It broke after only 15 soft wood bores! Very disappointing DeWalt...

Great for cabinets

I had a set of 3 different size but my 9/64 broke. No fault of the manufacture, my fault the drill fell over and broke the tip so I need to replace it. I really does a great job countersink in wood and leaves a pretty clean countersink. A must tool to have when you need to countersink screws. Great product by DeWalt.

Great for speed per sheet, but maybe go with the countersink w/O drill bit if penetrating many sheets at once.

I shouldn't have waited to long to get this drill bit. I bought it because I saw Tom Silva on This Old House use it a thousand times. It makes driving long screws so much easier. Currently using it to build shelves in my new shed.

This type of tool is very handy but we got damaged to easily, some times the drill bit come off on the assembly part and make us to buy very often

It’s a great tool. I’m saving a lot of time using it. It’s a 2 in1 making pilot hole and countersink hole at the same time. I’m finish carpenter and I’m carry this drill bit with me all the time

I have had two of these bit snap off in wood with the slightest bit of tilt applied (drilling at an angle for toe-screws). They are extremely fragile. Other than that they work and countersink well.

I was initially disappointed in not finding a straight countersink, so I dropped down a size and chose this tapered version. It works perfectly and is still very sharp after assembling 42 wooden beehive boxes. Each box has 36 finger joints, so my drill may give up before this bit does.

I was using it and it broke off and the broken piece is stuck in the wood. I'm surprised that the DeWalt product was made cheaply. I love DeWalt but this was a miss.

Unlike my last countersink bit, this one has a tapered drill bit and the countersink is adjustable via allen bolts. Quality sharp, but the first time I used it, the allen bolts needed tightening and I was without the tool needed. If the bit came tightened it would have been better.

Great tool! I used this to pre-drill and countersink holes for our new steps. The drill bit stayed sharp and was perfect for my need. No issues at all. I will be using this on future projects.

Who doesn't want to cut out half the bit changes? I've gotten cheaper ones before and would recommend against it. Tools you use every day deserve the investment. You already know it's true.

Exactly what I needed. Replaced one I had wore out.

It crooked bad ly. And it was not my first time. It was very good a few years ago.
