Terrible design on these mounting brackets. The latching mechanism is made of plastic and snaps far too easily for a piece of equipment that is supposed to allegedly support 500lbs. Extremely disappointed, Dewalt (or whomever manufactures this stuff now) needs to do better.

I have a set of the DW7231, Type 3 mounting brackets. I don't use my saw that often (maybe 10 times a year), however the last time I used my saw, I was unable to "unlock" one of the brackets from the stand. Turns out, the safety release is no longer working... I now have to try and squeeze my finger in the small opening, to push back the mechanism that "locks" the bracket onto the stand, in order to be able to fully release the bracket. Trying to do this and NOT pinch my finger is a serious challenge. Very disappointed.

Im a carpentry Gm and i bought 5 stand for my miter saw. The plastic clips broke within in days of used, the plastic mounts are junk. I wish they made that clip of metal or aluminum. I don’t recommend.

The plastic spring clamp that stat he’s to the rail is cheap and brittle. It snapped after 3 uses. Checking reviews online, this seems to be a very common problem. Overall design is good but it’s all compromised with this cheap plastic attachment. Avoid purchasing if you plan on detaching/reattaching from site to site.

Brand New, one day old and first time removing saw from stand the steel spring shattered in bracket lever. See Picture. Now I need to make some sort of make shift spring so I can get this to work. Discarded box so can't return.

Used the bench twice and couple of the parts within the plastic handle broke. If made of stronger materials, it would be a great tool.

Easily added to most DeWalt tools.

Very disappointed with the quality.. The old design was much more durable. These are cheap plastic clamp the break easy.

Bought an extra pair of these brackets to make a table top for my Miter Saw Workstation. They work great.

A vast improvement over previous DeWalt saw horse systems. I am very worried about the feet though. After a short time, the hard feet have worn down and the screw heads on the feet are making contact with the floor surfaces meant to be protected by the feet. And the handle release broke so DeWalt is sending me a replacement part as the item is under a 3 year warranty.

I have a shop full of DeWalt products and this one is a bit of a disappointment. I mounted my saw probably a half dozen times in the last 18 months and yesterday it got 'stuck' and I couldn't fully mount or unmount it. I unbolted the saw and looked at the mechanism and realized it was stuck or broken. I used a small rod to release the spring latch and dismounted the bracket. I examined the clamp part after trying dry lube spray and realized it was broken. A quick look online found dozens of similar comments from people and even USA manufactured replacement locks that get rave reviews. For now I'll switch to my old miter saw stand after making a mounting plate for my saw and the other brackets.

As noted with most of the other reviews, I setup the new mounting brackets on a chop saw used it and then moved it and when attaching the brackets to the stand (only the second time) the spring broke in the lever the locks the bracket to the stand.

The brackets work, but not as durable as the original ones from 2004. I bought the brackets to replace the ones I had purchased in 2022. The original brackets lasted 18 years. The replacement set, less than 2 years. The plastic components broken after just one winter season of work.

Carpenter 20 yrs. Own 3 cordless mitersaws. Had 2 sets of these brackets for at least 4 or 5 years. They lasted really well. Springs went out on one set so I bought this brackets as a replacement. They are not made the same as the old ones. These are cheaply made and aren't as snug to the stand as the old ones. These allow the saw to wobble back and forth. I put these new ones on my bosch mitersaw which is super light, I wanted to put them on my 36v makita 10" but I can't risk it because the makita is almost twice the weight and these brackets not the same quality as the older ones. I'm more than prepared to change stands from dewalt to something else If this is the best we're going to get.

Just like all the other reviews, the locking mechanism is a VERY poor design. The cheap plastic lock is garbage and should have been redesigned long ago by DeWalt. The concept is good which is the only reason I offered a second star rating. The first month that you use this you’ll love it, but then it’ll become unusable. Guaranteed. DeWalt is really spitting in the eyes of multitudes of loyal customers by not standing by this product.
