Not as good as it used to be
I have used Dricore on 2 previous basement projects and been very happen with the results. The manufacturing of the product has changed for the worse. There is now less adhesive to hold the wood shavings together. You have to be very careful about getting slivers in your fingers and hands. I used a circular saw to cut them and had lots of separation of the wood shavings. I tried cutting one with the black side up but ended up tearing the underside in a few spots. I had no problem with the installation and fitting the pieces together.

I have Dricore in my basement for some moisture issues (not water). This keeps the flooring dry and warmer. It’s easy to install by myself. Finishing out the utility side now with it.

    Not your Father's DriCore
Much thinner than previous version of DriCore. Does not work well mating to older version.

I am remodeling my basement and have found these tiles to be the sub-floor that I should have used when we remodeled before. Thes tiles, along with a dehumidifier, have made our basement a very valuable living space again.

Excellent product for covering my old basement concrete floors. Give a nice layer of comfort to the concrete. Remember to double check for any hollow spots under the dri-core. Once carpet is down these spots become more noticeable with a hollow sound

Dricore is excellent over a slab, it leave you with a flat surface since irregularities will not telegraph, its a wood product so the feel of cement is gone and adds warmth to the room. installation is easy and fast due to the 2x2 size.

    Used for tile
Used cement anchor style screws to secure to the basement cement floor. Sealed all seams...tiled over....been 4 yrs and still great. Would not recommend as bare panels without a top cover.

I purchased these panel about 16-17 years ago, I had an issue with a water leak and had to replace a few boards. When I went to lay them next to the existing boards I noticed the height was different. The existing boards I bought many years ago, the wood part is a full 3/4” the new ones 1/2” terrible! Now I have to add 1/4” to make up the difference!

It is very easy to install. One needs to consider one important factor, it is not the humidity, but the change in humidity. If the wood floor expands, it may, and more likely will, separate the tiles. So the product is designed for protecting wood from moisture from the floor, but not designed for large change in humidity in the air.

Price Gouging and Deterioration in Quality
These panels used to be great. But now, not only have they doubled in price (over the previous year), but the quality of material have gone way down. I can't even tap on the edges with a rubber hammer gently without the material completely disintegrating.

Upped the price even though it is less material.
Why did you raise the price? There is less material and you just added 1.30 to the price in less then a month.

Makes cold basements cosy…but Dricore R is even better!
I installed this Dricore product as part of a project to turn 400 sqft of unfinished basement in a 1930s bungalow into a master bedroom. It was key to making the cool, damp space warm and cosy, and once carpet was installed you would never know it used to feel like a dungeon. Any DIY-er with a chop saw, level and rubber hammer can install this product. The one drawback is the maximum quarter inch tolerance for level changes, even with the shim pack - that’s not much in an old house, and if your floor exceeds this then it takes some time and skill to prevent boards from rocking. But the results are worth it. Three years later we moved, and the new place had a poorly finished basement - it was freezing at night. This time I used 1,500 sqft of another Dricore tile, the “R ”. This has a foam base layer instead of plastic, which is a better insulator (R4 vs. R1.4) and is more forgiving where the floor is not quite flat - because the foam is a little more deformable than the rigid plastic. This needed far fewer shims, and no tile slap to resolve. The trade-off with R is the finished floor has a little more “give” when you walk on it, but maybe I only notice this because I know what’s down there. With a bamboo floating floor on top the basement is much warmer than when it had carpet pad on concrete slab and the smell of moisture is totally gone. The washing machine overflowed and we didn’t notice for a week; the bamboo floor was ruined but Dricore tiles were fine, no visible expansion and dryed well. Home Depot does sell R but apparently not in-store anywhere. You have to buy blind, but I recommend it over this standard “R” tile.

Was perfect for what I needed
I was getting a little bit of water seeping up from the foundation in the basement where my studio was. So my friend recommended these, and they were perfect. Easy to install. Just enough space to separate the water coming up. Holds heavy weight.

                      Good product
Easy install and decent product. It has changed in total thickness over the years though so be careful if you are trying to add on to an old installation. Selling an tapping block would be a good addition to the offering as well.
