I should have followed my instinct and trashed the screws in the kit but I wanted to keep the aged bronze heads. I drilled pilot holes but the 1st long screw snapped off when 3/4" was still visible. Luckily I had some #9 x 3" construction screws that I could angle to miss the snapped off screw. These screws are many times stronger than the ones in the kit. The screws closest to the inside of the house should be angled toward the center of the door frame or you miss the 2x4 frame.

Screws are cheap; heads strip easily.
Strike Plate is fine. The screws are cheap and the heads strip very easily. Luckily, I had good replacements on-hand.

Good quality Security Strike Plate
I was looking for a satin nickel strike plate that was larger/had 4 screws since I needed the screws in a different location. This looks good and worked well. Used my own screws (expected from other reviews) and corner had a small dent, so 1- star.

Screws Are Garbage
I bought this to reinforce my front door from kicking. Although the plates themselves are good, I have two major caveats.
First, your existing mortise (the cutout in your door frame) will not work with the strike plate. I don't have the skillset to change the mortise, and if I attempted to install the plate over the existing mortise the door would not close. So I only attempted to install the plate that goes on the lower handle (the latch strike plate).
The latch strike in my door did not have a mortise, so I was able to install it. But the screws provided are made of extremely soft metal. Despite pre-drilling a hole and going slowly, three out of four screws that I used ending up getting stripped out and I spent most of an entire morning getting them out. Huge, huge aggravation that could have been avoided.
If you buy this kit, (1) check the mortise; and (2) buy good quality screws to use instead of the junk that they give you.
