Hi there Eddie, you purchased a chair mat made specifically for hard floors, like tile and wood. Since you are using the mat on carpet, you would need a carpet chair mat, which has the cleats on it. These are available on homedepot.com as well.

It is not intended for use on any type of carpeted flooring. These hard floor mats have a smooth back, which will slide on carpet.

We do have a low pile mat available, as well as a low-to-medium pile mat. Both of these carpet mats have cleats on the underside to keep the mat in place. The mat you purchased is intended for hard floors only. It has a smooth bottom to accommodate hard floors like wood, tile, vinyl, etc. Based on your review, it sounds like you purchased the wrong style of mat for your flooring surface.
You likely should have purchased a carpet mat, which has cleats on the bottom to keep the mat in place on carpets. These cleats work as a gripper and won't allow the mat to move or slide. Carpet mats are available on homedepot.com.
