I like this chair mat. On medium-pile carpet, it allows my chair to roll around pretty easily with absolutely no sliding around like my old mat. The grippers look pretty long for low pile carpet; I'd be cautious if you care about the floor underneath, like a rug over hardwood floors. The shape is very pretty, much more rounded than many similar mats. My only concern is the amount it flexes under the chair wheels. It gives the chair a bit of resistance to rolling which is good, but I worry that all the flexing will translate into a shorter life than desired. I've seen no evidence of that yet, but it concerns me. Overall though this is a nice mat.

This is a great mat for saving your carpet whether your in the office or at home.I keeps your chairs casters from digging into the carpet and causing premature ware as well as to the carpet pad underneath.It is made from a semi soft plastic that comes rolled up,When you unbox it you need to unroll it and place it on a flat area with some books on it to flatten it out,Takes about two hours.Then set it where you want and the molded nubs on the bottom keep it from moving around.Your carpet is now protected and your chair is a lot easier to move around.

The two biggest concerns in selecting the right mat are: is it big enough and is it thick enough? This mat is recommended for carpets with a pile of up to 3/8”, but ours is a bit deeper than that at 1/2”. So it comes as no surprise that our 5 wheel desk chair makes slight indentions into its otherwise smooth surface. It moves around ok with light effort, but it should do just fine on the proper length carpet. The mat is large enough that when you slide your chair back to get up, it doesn’t roll off the rear. There’s also plenty of room for side to side movement as well. The large rounded corners look more stylish and less formal making this mat quite suited for home decor. When you’re up close to the desktop, the curved protruding lip keeps your chair on the mat. The many nubs underneath securely hold the mat in place preventing any movement.

This is a tricky review to cover because I'm impressed with the design/quality but the product doesn't 100% meet my needs. Like others have said you really need a berber style, super firm/low pile carpet for this to be ideal. I didn't think our office carpet was that plush, so even though it slightly exceeded 1/4" depth I assumed it wouldn't be that big of a deal. Because this is made from a thick vinyl the chair wheels will indent where you sit. It makes it difficult to move around after that happens. The indents do bound back but in reality something more rigid would be ideal for most household carpets. So no knock against the actual product but unless you have firm, low pile carpet I would look at something else.

This chair map arrived rolled up. I unrolled it on my deck in the sun and it flattened out nicely in a couple of hours. There was an instruction sheet in the box telling you how to take it out of the box, but it was at the bottom of the box under the mat. The sheet says that if it's cold when delivered wait for it to warm up indoors before trying to remove it, and that it may take up to 24 hours to flatten back down. It's made of clear heavy plastic with a slightly textured top and a bunch of .2" long spikes on the bottom to grip the carpet. It's generously sized at 56" long and 42" wide. It comes with a one year limited warranty. My star base (5 caster) office chair rolls smoothly over the mat. It will be a few years before I can report on the durability of this mat.

This Evolve Modern Shape Office Chair Mat is truly a modern shape! In my picture, you can see that the lip for under the desk is a more modern gradual curve instead of the abrupt curve of older-style mats. Because the curved lip is much wider, I will need to use a razor knife and slit the mat at the inside corner of my desk pedestal. As the mat comes rolled in a long box and the underside nubs for holding the mat in place are very sharp, gloves are recommended while unrolling the mat. The mat is very stiff and curled, so you must cautiously unroll it and place something heavy on it at first. I opened mine about 4 hours ago and it is already flat and smooth. Appears to be of good thickness and durability. Time will tell.

The review question, "Would you recommend this product?" OH, heck yes!!!! already have! The chair mat I had was not made for carpeted floors and even though it is pretty, it just didn't get the job done. I did not know about the little stickery things that lock the chair mat into the carpet, and I just had to learn the hard way. Different carpet needs different sticky things. So take that little tidbit of knowledge and apply if you have carpet.

This mat is most definitely a little thinner material than most people would prefer on carpet, although it is a good medium thickness (for short to medium carpet lengths), & is designed for standard-size computer/desk use. Mine has a grayish-brown tint to it (smoke), unlike the website pictures, which show clear. It's also a little thicker than the website shows. The unique rounded-front shape is fine, it actually matches the shape of my computer desk perfectly...go figure. No beveled edge, which to me is a drawback...you WILL slide off the edge at some point, it just happens. It ships rolled up, but includes instructions to flatten it, & it flattens out pretty quickly. At $58, this mat seems a little pricey for what it is, tho' it may not be compared to similar items.

The floor mat was received in a very narrow and tall box considering the flat size of the mat. After opening the box and pulling the mat out, we found it was tightly rolled together. We followed the Manufacturers instructions and rolled the pad in reverse and puts several books on it to reverse and flatten the mat. 24 hours later, we tried to flatten it out and it did not work. The underside if the mat has very sharp spikes designed to hold the mat on your carpet to prevent the mat from slipping on the carpet. Be very careful, these spikes are sharp and can easily puncture your hands With two people with gloves we flattened out the mat and put two very large wash detergent bottles on them to keep them flat. We came back 12 hours later and success. The Desk chair now moves easily on the Mat. The mat should last a long time and is of high quality clear thick, durable plastic

arrived as scheduled & took 24 hours to lay flat. It works perfectly for my sewing table & chair.

I understand why Home Depot does not display these mats in store: I would not have bought the item if I had seen how flimsy it is. I doubt it will last long.

Sturdy quality, didn't take long to flatten out after putting some heavy books on the corners, and seems to be working well on medium-thick carpeting after several weeks. There are slight impressions from my chair wheels, but nothing problematic.

Excellent chair mat. I no longer sink in and get stuck with this one.

The chair mat fits perfectly in my space. I'm just unable to keep the mat from moving when the chair with wheels is on the mat.

Pretty thin plastic showing all the dips where table legs and office chair with wheels were sitting. It's okay, but not a real substitute for a solid floor.

A great mat. It’s thick and looks like it going to be durable. I weigh about 340 and my chair wheels are not leaving divots in the mat. Had to let it warm up for it to flatten out. The plastic spikes molded into the mat hold it steady on my carpet. They are about 3/16” tall.

Great shape and the price was very good too. A little on the soft side and will show slight tracking from chair rollers but it is fine. I would recommend this item, you will like it.

Perfect size for small office. Office chair rolls easily on it.. Even though it came rolled up, it was relatively easy to lay flat once it was warm to room temperature. Some odor was expected, but soon dissipated after laying on the floor for a little while. Overall, I'm very pleased with the selection and will order the same if or when needed again. Order and delivery service was easy and quick.
