Easy to install and great peace of mind for all the electronics in everything from HVAC, kitchen appliances, and entertainment center...This unit is high quality and the leads were just long enough for my installation in a 25 year old circuit breaker panel. It was simple to install (For me) at my fusebox. It's joule rating is high enough that I can trust it.

It was an easy work: replace the defective surge protector by a new one.

I purchased this item and couple not install it for a couple of reasons. 1. the manufacturer indicates a 50amp breaker should be used to get the maximum stated rating from this unit. The problem being this unit comes with only 14awg wire that will not work with a 50amp breaker. What I mean is the wire gauge is to small for most 50amp breaker since this size breaker is looking for a min of 12awg to max 8awg wire. When I contacted the manufacturer they told be it was only tested with 50amp Eaton breaker. They also said I could use a smaller breaker 20amp but it was not tested with that size breaker and I would not get the full rating of 108ka that I paid for. I started thinking try collecting on the warrenty if I installed a smaller breaker and I had surge issues. Good luck then 2. the 14awg wire supplied with the unit is only approx. 12" long. Since I was installing this unit on a subpanel with a separate ground and neutral bus bar, due to the short length of wire where ever I mounted the unit on the outside of the load center I could not reach the separate bus bars. Again when I contacted the manufacturer they told me I could not add any length two the wire. They told me I had to add additional ground bar or neutral bar so the wires could reach. I starting thinking are you guys kidding me. Overall I think this unit is poorly designed for any physical type installation. Cheap 14 gauge wire and too short for many installations. PS; quick follow up to item two above they sent me an email saying I should install wire lugs on the end of the wire to make it fit inside the 50amp breaker. LOL so now I can add length to the wire?

I have had these installed but so far there have been no storms or other reasons for them to do there job, but I have faith they will if needed.

Had to drill hole into circuit breaker box and made space for new circuit breaker to connect too, otherwise went in easy

this product is functional in over voltage? i have installed one of these and in my town was a over voltage about 300volts and the surge protector allowed entry the voltage

So far so good..

Ordered online, ship to store. Box was damaged and missing screws and dirty. Home depot knew it was damaged because the box was tied in a plastic bag and had a post-it note inside stuck to the box that said “damaged box”. I dont appreciate being given a dirty, damaged box and a dirty,scratched product and missing screws at full price. This is a scratch and dent item that would never sell at full price in a retail setting, why cram it down the line just because people cant see it beforehand? Thats not good customer service, and its simply not honest.

We have installed it with a professional and have no issues thus far!

Had it professionally installed by an electrician for $215, they supplied the 50 amp breaker, and since I havent had any damaged devices from surges, it seems to be working. Only time will tell. Given the high reviews, lifetime warranty and Eaton’s time in the industry, I am satisfied.

Warranty states "Failure due to direct lightning strikes and temporary over-voltage are not covered." So not covered by lighting nor power surges. What's the point?

This Whole house Surge Protector was recommended by our electrician...the installation went smoothly...so far it is working well.

I hope its a good one, won't know until we get our next big electrical surge.

Had an electrician install it. Protects the entire house. Since we have a lot of storms here it's a good idea.

Easy to hook up. Luckily I had a 220 breaker at the top of the box where my service comes in. It was for the electric cooktop that we no longer use because we switched it to gas. I disconnected it and capped it off and replaced the cooktop 40 amp breaker with a 50 amp breaker what is recommended for the surge protector. My service is in the basement. I had to drill a hole in the side of the breaker box next to the 50 amp breaker. I also glued a small piece of 3/4 treated plywood that I had laying around to the cement basement wall outside the breaker box to mount the surge protector to. I use contractors glue to do that and screwed the protector to that.
