Today I called the gas company and shut off my service. My old 40 gallon water went out on me 10 days ago. I ordered this 18KW ECO SMART system when it was on sale for 319.00 So far everything works GREAT! The biggest concern you will need to address is you breaker box in your home. If you have a 150- 200 AMP breaker box don't think twice about getting this. I had to have a good bit of ELECTRICAL work done to upgrade for this system. I researched the many options out there. This was what I was looking for. Something that was 100% electrical, On demand use, Self contained, and almost no maintenance for up keep. My brother and I put ball valves in the lines to ease the maintenance and service for the Eco Smart system. It handles with EASE a nice hot water temp in my upstairs master-bedroom shower. This is the farthest point away from the unit. All and all I am very happy so far with this investment for my home.

Love it just make sure u have plenty of room in breaker box or u will have to buy piggy back breakers at25$ a pop

Ordered during Memorial Day Sale, and had it installed a few days later, I previously had a 62 gallon conventional hot water heater that developed a leak. I did a little research, and this model had everything I wanted! Made in the USA, enough power for whole house duty, lifetime warranty, space saver, visually pleasing, easy to use, eco friendly, and endless hot water! The install went really well, and after getting the bubbles out of the system, we turned it on and almost instantly had hot water. We keep ours set on 120, and it is the perfect temperature. 105 was a nice temp also, but I wanted a little more heat. Keep in mind the temp can go all the way to 140. Overall I am very pleased with this unit! I have not received the electric bill yet to see the changes, but when I do I will update my post accordingly.

I purchased this model to replace an older 40 gallon electric kilowatt waster. The electric usage dropped so dramatically that a few months after installing it the local electric utility showed up and hung an auxiallary power monitor on the drop lines to the house to "prove" that we were stealing electricity. We have tracked an approximate 60% drop in the electricity use age.

This an excellent item. Handles showers at the same time washing machine is being ran. Was very easy to install. I'm very happy with the purchase of this tankless water heater.

This heater is a direct replacement for a previous demand heater. The difference in performance is unreal. I had to constantly fiddle with my old one to the the water temp to remain constant, this unit has solved that problem. I have it set at 115 deg and it's plenty for simultaneous shower and kitchen use. Installation is straight forward provided you have a large enough electric panel to accommodate three 30amp double pole breakers. The plumbing is easy enough for anyone who has some skill at pipe work. If your thinking about a tankless heater, I'd consider this one. Been in use for about a month so durability is still uncertain.

This product is great! Installation was simple and im not a electrician or a plumber. Just note you will have to buy wire and breakers witch would run a little bit more. I never run out of hot water. I run the washing machine and the shower at the same time. All is good. The shipping was fast.

It didn't work I had to return the unit.

Just installed the unit Aug. 30, so far so good. If things change I will change my review.

this is our second eco 18; first died of mineral deposition after 2 years of very little use in an outbuilding. the heater is fast and effective and easy to hook up and set temp. but it is also very sensitive to hard water and can plug up very quickly. a detailed read of the directions recommends flushing frequently with vinegar but it isn't clear that this would have solved our mineral deposition problems. i tried dissolving some of the material in the tubes of the first, failed heater in vinegar and little or nothing went into solution. a water softener is highly recommended by our water expert who was unsurprised by the early failure.

I love the performance of the unit

We installed the ECO11 as our hot water heater here in the Florida panhandle over ten years ago and it is still working fine. It did break down at one point when the sensor that tells it the hot water has been turned on broke, but was able to order a part and fix it for about $50. We're moving to Virginia and plan on installing the ECO18 since being further north it'll have to heat the water more in the winter.

Every once in a while it sends an E5 error message for no reason…?

I will withhold my rating for now, I am replacing an existing unit that I used on my guest house, was maybe two years old, And the circuit board went out.

Excellent product. Owned one previously and replaced with exactly same unit. Also installed a smaller version in another location.

Easy to hook but not enough hot water for single shower.

This small heater is perfect for a shower. Make sure you’ve got a low flow head and in my case the diverter was leaking enough that the heater couldn’t keep up. Once the water flow was down to a comfortable 1-1/2 gallons a minute or less it was very comfortable and saves a ton on electricity!

The package was delivered in torn condition, and will probably have to be returned, as no breaker can be found for the existing electrical box after searching 6 different stores and the internet.
