Wrecked the carpet
Beware this is a one size fits all product that does not necessarily fit your situation. The screw broke off ABOVE the level of the padding & it puckered the carpet too. I screwed down to the set point in the fixture but it was obviously too high for my carpet & padding thickness. Now I'm left with a broken off screw that's impossible to get out without causing more damage to the carpet. You can even feel the screw when you walk across it. Waste of money and now our perfect carpet is ruined too.

screw did not snap as designed
Screw would not snap, and could not back it out either, finally had to use a cats paw to pry it and the plastic part off the floor, chipped the hardwood and left about 1/4" of screw sticking out. ruining the floor. product should be taken off the shelf's. please spare yourself the pain of trying these. did not even minorly help the squeaks either.

      Using is Believing
As my wife and I say, "120-year-old house, 120-year-old problems." One problem was the hardwood flooring in the recently de-carpeted bedrooms. The wood used wasn't the highest quality, and there were squeaks and some boards had come slightly loose at the ends. I saw this product on YouTube and decided to give it a try; I'm absolutely happy with the results. The floor in the current project room in good shape in only a couple of hours; it would've been less if it hadn't been my first time using it and if the joists were evenly distributed! As other reviewers have said, this "reduces" squeaks; it doesn't eliminate all of them. I'd say my improvement is 80-90%! I only had 2 problems: 1) my 3d screw snapped off before countersinking, leaving 1/4" of screw exposed. I forgot to drill the guide hole first. A pair of locking pliers backed the screw out. 2) I had to angle some screws into the floor to hit the joist in a few places, and I couldn't use the guide in those instances. Just make sure the break point is a few millimeters below the floor and break the head off with some pliers. Frankly, after the first 15 or 20 screws, you may not need the guide -- especially if you have better vision than I do. Highly recommend a deep scan stud finder. I used the Studsensor HD70 and it worked well. Have 2 drills on hand: one for drilling and one for screwing in the screws. Switching between drill bit and screw head is a pain. Note: I haven't used this system on carpeted floors, but it seems well-suited to the task.

I saw Tommy Silva from This Old House use a product like this and it inspired me to search the product. Happy Home Depot carried it. Kit was very complete and worked perfectly! No more squeaky floor. I have berber carpet with no padding. Used tape around the screw as recommended and the carpet was not damaged. Can't feel screws.

Finding the joist in an old house is "fun," since most are not 16" on center. But, aside from that, the smooth shank screw helped a lot. After getting everything screwed down, I was ready to snapped the head off the screws. Following the instructions and using the 3-prong clamp due to having carpet, I rocked left to right. Well, the screw held its ground and the 3rd arm of the 3-prong tool snapped right off. At this point, I just grabbed a hammer and gave the screw head an angular hit left and right. Pop! Good as gold......but the quality of that 3-prong tool could be improved (maybe metal vs plastic). That's the reason for the 4/5.

          Worthless
Screw did not snap off. Tried reversing the screw and it would not come out. Leaving the screw and the mechanism stuck to my stairway. Had to use a sawzall to get it off which left gouge marks in my wooden stair.

I have had a squeak in my upstairs bedroom floor for almost 25 years. This kit fixed it! It took me about 2 hours, start to finish. It is a very clever product. Worked great on my carpeted floor. Takes a bit of work to find the studs, but once you've found them it goes quickly. I admit I finally just sank a few screws in the center part of the squeaky area regardless of studs. It helped.

The first time I used this, the arm that has the slot on it broke off when I went to snap off the screw.

            Just Measure Correctly
This system works great - measure exactly where and how your under floor joists run. Run a line and start drilling - I drilled across the entire room from wall to wall - establishing a straight line of holes. Then I followed with the tool and snap off screws.. in a few instances I could feel my floor being pulled tight. My wife is blown away. Our home is all hardwood.. and built in 1970. I purchased extras for stair treads and some other rooms. Plan first, measure twice and use the system.

Easy to follow instructions. Best if 2 drills are used especially if you're doing multiple stairs. My hardwood stairs are so old that after using 40 screws most of the stairs still creak. It silenced only a few stairs.

Occasionally breaks off early, leaving the broken screw shaft exposed above the carpet. Takes s lot of effort to correct this.

              Good for what it is
This kit certainly beats tearing up carpet just to fix a few floor squeaks. However, the instructions don't warn about the dangers of punching holes in your floor -- namely, you should always be aware of where your electrical is running? Pros: Effective, good value (especially since it includes 50 repair screws), compat Cons: Poor instructions, potentially hazardous to unaware DIYers.

                Works great and pretty straightforward
Was a little concerned to use the tool at first, but after doing a few screws, I realized it's pretty straightforward. Very pleased with the results and would absolutely recommend to others with some creaks in the floors. Also should mention, I was using this on carpeted floors on the second story of a home. I think it's a tad overpriced for what it is, but cheaper and quicker than other options.

                  One more inch
Product worked as advertised. Didn’t show any signs of the repair carpet looked untouched. Why I give it a 3 star is because in a few areas I needed the screws to be an inch longer so I had to use different screws to complete the job. Suggest kit include longer screws or a half and half mix.

                  Squeaky floor repair
I haven't used the product yet but I misunderstood what is in the package. There isn't an easy way to find the studs since the product doesn't provide one. The rest of the components look easy to use after you find the stud.

                  Did not work for me
This was easy enough to use and i did get it into the joists. You cannot see or feel the screws. But the squeak is still there just as bad as before. The package does state this product does not work for all squeaks, so i guess I'm in that boat. Its a risk to purchase this. Not super expensive, but to me that is just lost money. 2 stars only because i can see this working in certain situations and ease of use.
