The Phillips heads seat well to both a drill bit and a screw driver. Nice clean sharp screw shaft also. These are top notch as I have a box of another brand’s screws that are practically useless.

More and more, the fastening hardware that is included with China manufacturers items are JUNK. At least HD still has some sibilance of quality control in what they sell. These screws don’t strip or break easily.

Used these to secure L brackets around legs for a home built router table. I drilled holes first...
Used these to secure L brackets around legs for a home built router table. I drilled holes first with a drill bit slightly smaller than the screww and that were not as deep as the screws. This allowed the screws to bite into the wood. I hand tightened the screws with a screw driver. So far they are very secure and working well.
