The freezer has ample space, and comes with a basket-u can order more baskets if needed. Yellow tag states it costs $37 a year to run.

Unit runs quietly and appears to be holding temperature as required.

Freezer in use from get-go. It was delivered, set up, and operational with little effort(none on my part, the delivery people did it).

This fridge is great! We use it for everything. Doesn't take up too much room!

This is our second Frigidaire freezer. The first is still going strong after 5 years and I believe it is the same size as this one, 15.6 cu ft. We raise pigs, rabbits, ducks and chickens and my wife loves to stock up on turkeys when they go on sale around Thanksgiving. Turkey at 59 cents a pound is a great deal, so she bought 4 the day the freezer arrived. The freezer was delivered and the 15.6 cu ft is a good size as it easily fit through several doorways and we had trouble finding a good spot for it. Once set up, we put a container of water in the empty freezer and turned it on . Only a few hours later, the water was frozen solid, so we moved our new turkeys and a freshly butchered pig into it. We store most of our meet in the new freezer and keep veggies, entrees, ice cream, frozen pizza, etc in the older one. We love the convenience of buying bulk when the sales are on and having lots of food available for unexpected guests or those cold winter weeks when you don't want to have to go grocery shopping. The freezer is a nice size, easy to reach to the bottom, has a storage basket that slides along the top, and comes with a light so you can easily see the contents. There is a drain plug on the right front so you can drain out water when defrosting, and the thermostat is located on the exterior, on the left side. There is also a 'power on' lamp on the front so you can verify at a glance that all is well. The freezers are so quiet, you'd never know they were running. The thermostat on both our freezers is set at midway, which is plenty cold. I deducted one star (I'd have preferred to only ding it by half) because while crawling on to top of the freezer to run a wire for a plug, the top dented even though I was careful and tried to spread my weight (190 lbs) evenly. I finished the job with a piece of plywood on top. The dents were minor, but I feel the top could be a little more substantial. Despite that we are pleased and would recommend the Fridigaird 15.6 cu ft freezer to friends and family, as well as Home Depot. We've bought many appliances there and have been happy with the delivery and products. None have required service so far.

I absolutely LOVE this freezer! We are definitely a family that loves to freeze things so that we always have what we need on hand. We just outgrew our old 5 cuft freezer, so this nearly 16 cuft freezer seems absolutely enormous! What I really love is that it only uses about $3 more energy annually than my 5 cuft freezer! WOW! It's also extremely quiet. Some of the very nice features are that the lid locks, it has a defrost drain at the bottom and there is a light on the inside when you open the lid. But I also noticed that it gets cold REALLY, REALLY fast. This thing is super efficient, huge and whisper quiet. You could store a whole side of beef, 4 deer and your whole garden in this and probably still have room for more. LOVE IT!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This freezer chest was purchased to replace the one my grandmother won in a bingo game in 1958(!) which was still working but had broken hinges and thus was unsafe. It fits the space perfectly but this size is no longer made so I had to settle for a dented freezer and it was hard to get baskets for it. I hope it holds up well as the Riverside I inherited from my mother and grandmother.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have an upright frost free Frigidaire and wanted a good reliable chest freezer to store our meat in. When we want to use the meat we move it to the upright freezer for ease of getting to. As always our first choice was another Frigidaire.

We butcher meat and store it in bulk, so a roomy well organized freezer is a must. This freezer fills that requirement beautifully. I love that the freezer opens to a 90 degree angle and stays open. There is also a nice bright light so that I can see what's what. The best part is that it is much more energy efficient than or last freezer.

Its huge and gets below zero degrees

This freezer is an upgrade from our previous one and I love the extra space! I also love the stay open lid that stays up on it's own!

We purchased our new Frigidaire freezer to help with stocking up with freezer item for our family of 5 and we are loving being able to stock up on items once a month.

Perfect amount of space and love the interior light! Good purchase!

wish it had a temp alarm to tell one when it fails

We bought a freeze as an immediate need as ours had died after 27 years. There is way too much frost in the freezer. Meat is looking frost burnt after just several weeks. That is totally why we bought one that needs to be frosted by us. This should prevent freezer burning. Had to buy two extra baskets to stay organized. Not sure we chose wisely.
