Customer Reviews for GE Profile 30 in. Radiant Electric Downdraft Cooktop in White with 4 Elements with Rapid Boil

I finally replaced my 1988 stove top with this gorgeous new cooktop. I'm so pleased at how quickly it heats up.

product works well - i replaced a similar cooktop i previously purchased in 2003. surface seems easier to clean without scraping compared to older unit. surface also seems to have a nicer finish on it than the old model. power boil is very nice - it seemed to cut boiling time by about 50%. really like the way they incorporated the selection of the bridge and the selection of the burner size of front right burner right into the burner control instead of using a separate knob like they did on the older unit. Installation was easier in some ways since the unit is about half the height it used to be (so probably lighter). But there were a few things that made installation more difficult: 1) they don't include the hold down clamps any more - why? unit is essentially ok sitting in the cutout, but it does move ever so slightly when i'm cleaning it. you have to order the hold down clamps separately - if you want them at the time of the installation, download the manual so you can order them to arrive (hopefully) by the time your cooktop arrives. 2) downdraft adapter - i seem to recall the older unit shipping with the downdraft transition duct adapter - here you need to purchase a 3.25" x 10" to 6" round (thats whats recommended in the manual) blower transition duct. 3) why did they clamp the white and green power leads together with a crimp? you only need that if you don't have 4 wires from electrical supply & the only way i could separate them was to cut the crimped end off - shortening the power leads... they are short enough to begin with... 4) you will also need a 3/4" conduit connector to attach the conduit from your electrical line to the cover of the power terminal - again supplying that would have been helpful.

We had a 30 yr old Jenn Air downdraft cook top mounted in an island. There were very few choices for downdraft models so we were very pleased and surprised when this cook top installed so easily and performed so well. At this time we don't have any long term experience with this product, but our past GE purchases have provided us with a good experience.

I purchased this when I had granite counter tops installed to replace one that had smaller burners from 1997. This one has bigger burners and looks very nice in my kitchen.

Love this product and the clean lines and love the white looks fabulous on my white quartz counters!!

Incredibly bad!! As a former GE engineer (21 years; 6 at Appliance Park) I am ashamed of the poor quality product sold under the Monogram now. This cook top replaced a like model we had for 20 years. This one has been in our household for 3 years now. My wife continually complains how the glass top is staining although she very frequently cleans it with recommended products. Two nights ago, while watching TV, we heard a sound and didn't know where it came from. The next morning we found large cracks on the glass top. Definitely a sign of poor design and/or manufacturing. WE EXPECT GE TO OWN UP TO THIS VERY UNEXPECTED FAILURE.

I like the stovetop. It's easy to use and all burners work well. It heats up quickly and it's easy to set the temperature where you want it

The product is everything we wanted but the top was cracked from something being dropped on it. Now I find I cannot replace this unit as you no longer manufacture a downdraft unit. I would appear you are running all your loyal customers to JennAir or some other brand. What gives?????

Need a new filter and unable to find one online, I understand this cooktop is no longer made, but I need a way to replace the filter.

Shipping was outrageous and not forth coming and the unit requires constant cleaning.

Great so far. I am replacing a similar GE downdraft cooktop. Easy to install since a direct replacement. Glass cracked on previous cooktop.

We have used GE appliances for years This Cooktop is the only available with downflow exhaust and is discontinued We managed to purchase one of the last available units - Our old one was working after many years of service

Keeping the white finish clean is not easy. GE needs to improve the glass top surface. Also this is the second one I have had since the home was built. The fan control knob keeps shorting out and blowing out the circuit breaker!

So far so good. We just installed the cook top a day ago, so it's too early to comment on its workings in detail. Perhaps I will comment again in six months or so when we have used it for a while.

Bought this cooktop to replace a still functioning older GE brand that accidentally had gotten broken. This unit went right in the quartz countertop opening, all the connections were spot on from the previous GE cooktop. Installation was fully complete within 1 hour, that includes removing the old unit and installing the new. We have this cooktop at a beach rental home, so can’t speak to cooking experience as of yet, but it did seem to boil the water more quickly than the previous unit based on the 1 helping of Mac n’cheese that was made following installation Lol!

Great features. Should make blower rotatable for easier installation though. Had to custom make a transition duct to connect to exhaust.

Quality product for the cost. Also, the features are outstanding.

Beautiful cook top but downdraft never worked and safety lights also don't function. No replacements available after 6 months.

The stove is amazing. The fast boil saves tons of time in the kitchen and the 2 burners in one feature allows you to keep things hot while cooking. Just love it.

This cook top works wonderfully, easy to clean and we love the way the burners heat up very fast. Looks great with our new granite counter tops.

Excellent product, too bad you have stopped making it, it took me 6 weeks to find it. Would not recommend it to anyone, because it is no longer in production.

This cooktop is about as exciting as a cooktop gets. The placement of the controls make it easy to use without having to think about what you are turning on, unlike my last cooktop that made you look at the almost unreadable diagram. The skillet feature is very useful. This is a very well made and useful addition to any kitchen

Very pleased with all features of this product. Hoping that it holds up well, since just installed it today.

Only downdraft that we liked because of the styling.

The downdraft motor started smelling and stopped working. I had to order a replacement.

Works very well. We replaced our old stovetop with the newer version and like it even more.
