Perfect replacement for old dock box

I’ve used these before and I specifically use for Dock Sub Panels due to the product being plastic. It holds up better in the salt environment .

It is a plastic box and is very durable. It does not rust, is waterproof and will not conduct electricity. I use them on water wells. I have several in use.

Easy to install can install upto 4 breakers small and compact. Plastic so it's durable not expensive

I have used several of these units over the last few decades and they have performed superbly. Every one of these panels that I have installed are still in use. They are small enough to fit just about anywhere, have space for 8 110v GE "skinny" breakers/circuits or 4 220v circuits, and have more circuit knockouts than than anybody is likely to need. The only thing I don't like about them is that the difference between the interior and exterior versions is that the "door" that covers the breakers - which cannot cost a quarter to produce - adds at least $15 to the price of the outdoor version. That, and the price has gone up 80% in the last year.

Front cover replacement worked just fine.

I ordered on line, no prechecking. The picker picked the most dirty dusty and ~ had been returned. I think the items age was older than me and I was born in 1937. But after clean up, I installed and wired and it worked out great. It was not the product, it was the inattention to presentation.

I wanted a plastic panel and this was one of few options, and the only option with eight possible circuits. Quality control is horrible. I received two units in which the main screw was seized and the head began to strip as I pressured it. I returned the first unit and when the second had the same problem, I was able to forced it with the same oversized screwdriver until it unlocked. The neutral and ground bar are very low quality. The ground bar must also be purchased separately. I'm using this in a van conversion and will be using another panel for shore power. Since I'll only need a single circuit, I will use either the Square+D or Eaton two space plastic panels which appear to be much higher quality including the breakers themselves. I don't know if the two big box stores that I went to just have these things sitting around for a long time because they don't sell much GE, but many of the contacts on the breakers were slightly corroded. I noticed that many of the boxes on the shelf were clearly returns, so many others probably looked at this thing and just took it back. If you can work around the quality issues, it will do what it's supposed to do. However, unless your application specifically requires a four space plastic panel, I would look at alternatives.
