I think this is a great product , set up was quick and easy , it took no Longer than 10 minutes. The machine had a great dimensions and fit my area completely well, And I would recommend this product to anyone that would be looking for a washer and dryer
I just received this laundry center on 11/14/20 & it will have it's first service appt. on 11/25!! I used it the next day to wash white bamboo sheets and the sheets came out with black marks on them!! I actually accused my husband for the marks but later realized it was the washing machine after washing some clothes. Not only does this leave black marks on items, it also put holes in them too! I wiped the tub down with a paper towel and the paper towel had black marks all over it. I even used cleaner for the washing machine and the black marks are still present on dark, light and white items. I have rubbed my knuckles bare from having to scrub the black marks off the clothes!! I used Dawn to hand wash the marks off and I experimented with using Dawn instead of laundry detergent in the washer and I noticed the clothes come out with no black marks. Hmmm?? Anyway, the service repair better fix the issues!
I read hundreds of reviews and decided to take a gamble with this GE. I figured there were more good reviews than bad. I noticed the other laundry centers (Frigidaire & Whirlpool) also have really bad reviews too. My previous laundry center was a Frigidaire, which lasted 13 years but I decided to replace it due to water leaking and the dryer went out. I wish I would have gotten it repaired instead of buying this EXPENSIVE new GARBAGE they have put out to the world.
Here are the pros:
Dryer is super quite and drys in one cycle (so far).
Laundry center looks cute (I ordered the Diamond Gray one).
Washer is easy to reach into and retrieve items (I'm 5'7).
Speed Wash cycle takes about 35 to 40 minutes. ( I guess this is a pro since the regular wash cycle is like an hour).
Clothes/linens come out hardly wet most likely due to the super long spin cycle.
Washing cycle takes about an hour because the spin cycle is literally 20 minutes!
No soak cycle and only one rinse cycle (tried to leave the lid open to soak the clothes but discovered the "smart" machine drains out the water like in 10 minutes of it being idle).
Doesn't use enough water to cover clothes no matter what setting you use.
Washing machine sounds like others have said (dying duck, duck giving birth, gears grinding, etc).
Spin cycle is way too long (20 min) and sounds like a jet engine.
Cannot just hit start with the previous wash settings used for the previous load. You have to turn the dial to "off" and select your settings again.
No buzzer for washer or dryer
Dryer knob is nothing like the washer knob as it is much harder to turn. Reminds me of those old school timers you have to wind up; sound wise & the way it feels when turning the dial.
Washing machine leaves black marks on items and puts holes in items, especially if they are on the delicate side.
Good thing I bought the Home Depot extended warranty! One thing that sucks is you have 48 hours to report defects to Home Depot, which is ridiculous!
Discovered that the installers reversed the hot & cold water hoses (minor issue but still annoying). Luckily, I noticed the error on my first wash as the machine was filling up with water and I was able to switch to hot which is really cold.
DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE!!!! This is my first GE appliance and last! I swear they do not make things to last anymore. For this to be a brand new machine and having owned less than a week and already needs service is disgusting!! Shame on the manufacture for putting this lemon out for purchase!

I don’t like that you cannot select dryer temperature. And so far my biggest issue is that it scratches easily; somehow there are already scratches on the lid. Not sure if it came that way. Really annoying since our laundry center is in our kitchen and visible. We had our last laundry center for 11 years, and it never scratched.
Initially I was looking for separate washer dryer units however the electrical connection in my laundry closet was only configured for this type of machine (I had an old Maytag unit). Since upgrading, I have to say that I have not been disappointed. The wash time is great even with bigger loads and the machine is a really good size to get caught up with a weekly wash in our household. My only criticism is the noise of the machine when it washes, its a little loud but not too loud I cannot hear my TV or anything.
The size of the washer/dryer is perfect for the space I have. They will hold a queen size comforter with plenty of room to spare so I would assume that a king size would do well too. There are plenty of options to choose from as to types of clothing as well.
