This product is identical to the 200-amp transfer switch that ships with the 22 KW Guardian air-cooled generator. I used it because my house has two separate circuit breaker panels and I needed to guard each.

This unit was added as a second transfer switch to an existing generator and transfer switch. Easy install once I received a wiring diagram from Generac.

Don’t buy it
This this a great idea but it’s not worth the trouble. From the install, the lack of service techs in the So Cali area to broken parts in the transfer switch. I highly recommend not to starting this project. Stick to the manual connection and portable generators.
I should have went that route.

It had been dropped. The case was dented and the main breaker handle was broken off. Will use a different source next time.

Don’t buy from Home Depot online if you need your order timely!
Repeatedly, Home Depot promises delivery but doesn’t “deliver.” I suspect the product will be fine if I ever receive it. I am ready to switch to a competitor. It can’t be worse!

With expected electric outages our generator will be a life...
With expected electric outages our generator will be a life saver this summer. We have a special needs child who cannot take it without air conditioning. She has seizures when it’s too hot.
