GOOD YEAR branded product with a LIFETIME warranty did not hesitate to spend a few extra dollars for The solid brass connectors made it easy to fasten. had solid brass corrosion resistant fittings. I will say that I've had the hose for about a year and a half and used it less than 50 times. Nevertheless a bubble did begin in the hose and within a very short period of time, it exploded. I would not recommend it to someone else

Fairly new and used to water trees and plants, the hose ruptured after only having it for two months.

This is a review of the Good Year MAXLITE 50-foot rubber hose. On my sample the sidewall burst near the male coupling. Numerous other reviews have reported the same problem. Also, this hose was extremely prone to kinking prior to failure, another frequent complaint. Swan Products LLC honored the lifetime warranty after I emailed a copy of the purchase receipt and a photo of the sidewall failure. However, I do not recommend this hose.

Purchased two of these hoses on 01/16/2021. First hose failed in 06/2022, exchanged no hassle. Second failed this past 05/2024. I purchased hoses for the lifetime warranty. I just found out today that The Home Depot will not honor the warranty. I was told my receipt was too old and they could not process an exchange. The store said that I should try and contact the manufacture for a replacement. When asked for the manufactures contact information I was told to try finding it on Google.

Not recommended for the price. Hose end torn and burst after 7-8 months of use.

With a little practice I learned how to use this hose without it kinking (frequently mentioned in the reviews), but it's challenging and I cursed it repeatedly. I don't think the trade off on weight v. flexibility v. kinking is worth it. I purchased it since it had a higher temperature rating, but it's now abraded and leaks. I've asked for warranty replacement, but they've denied it due to the abrasion. Cheap, cheap, cheap. Do NOT purchase unless you want a hoseache.

I bought this hose last year. The options were a bit limited during covid. This is a giant heavy pile of kinked-up CRAP. Avoid this hose like the plague!!! Trust me, no hose is better than this!!!

Hose kinks easily and male fitting was not properly sweged so it separated after a few uses.

I had high expectations for a hose being made by Goodyear. This hose has numerous kinks in it regardless of how you unwind it. Basically it’s useless.

Bought this hose due to the Goodyear name. The first thing that I noticed after hooking it up was how easily it kinks. If you read the packaging you may notice that they comment on "Flexibility, strength, weight, etc." there is nothing there about being a non-kinking hose. I will be returning this hose, it is worthless to me! Piece of junk! If you need a hose like this only better, try the Continental it's at HD also.

Save your money this water hose pinches when you store it away making it difficult to use if you need to open the water for a quick hand rinse. You have to unroll the water hose to be able to use it. Not worth the money this is a trash of a water hose.

Bought 4 of these. Hooked up 2 they kink up really easy. Go to open the 3rd one up and notice then end is missing. Nice quality control Goodyear. I'm returning all 4 of them.

I bought five of these 50’ hoses from Home Depot thinking Goodyear should be good quality. However, two of the five failed (blew out at the male connection end) within 2 mos with only average water pressure and no unusual stresses at the connector. Loved the rubber non- kinking hose, but… On the positive aspect, Home Depot credited the sale with no questions asked.

This hose is not only horrible to coil, its already split at the fitting.

I bought 5 of these 50’ Goodyear Maxlite hoses and within 1 month two of the hoses blew out at the male connector junction. There was no stress or twisting, just blow out from pressure and my water pressure is average at best. I expected the Goodyear brand name to represent above average quality

I purchased this hose August 2017 for $34.95 wanting to have a more durable hose that would not burst within a few years of light home garden use. Lifetime warranty statement on the hose suggested that the hose might last at least several years. The hose was stored in a dry basement during the winter. The hose was moderately easy to move around. When the hose approached 4 years of modest use, it burst near the male connector (photo attached). Fortunately, I was with the hose and didn't have a major water loss$$ or yard flood. There does not appear to be any hose deterioration or wear that might weaken the hose. Water faucet is turned on during use; occasionally the hose might be pressurized (about 60 psi) for a few hours if faucet valve was not closed. I would expect a hose rupture to occur with one of the light-weight, expandable hoses but not with this hose. So much for Premium Rubber+ and a 400 psi pressure rating. Huge disappointment for Made in USA. Good news was that I repaired it using a new male connector / hose clamp. We'll see if another burst occurs.

I have purchased 4 of these over the last 12 months and 2 have blown out below the spray nozzle.

After less than two months the hose exploded at male end. Very poor quality

I liked the improved female connector, as it saves having to wrench it down to get a leakproof connection. However, the first one I bought separated at the hose to female coupling connection point once pressurized. Looked as if it wasn't crimped internally to secure the two pieces (hose and coupling) together. I returned it to the store for an exchange and the newest one works fine.

I used to have a Goodyear hose and it was amazing. It was thick but bendy and never kinked. So when I needed a new hose I decided on this one, after looking over the selections for like half an hour. Anyhooooooow, this is bendy - too bendy. It kinks if you look at it funny. Today, I went outside and noticed that it had competely blown out, with the water valve open. There’s no telling how many gallons of water were wasted. Just glad I was home when it happened. Sheesh. Rated for 400psi. NOT Move along… Nothing to see here….

The worst hose we have ever had. We have renamed it the kink master 5000. If i coukd find my receipt i would return it. We bought without looking for reviews.

Just purchased this connected it to the Spicket in the hose just came right off the connection piece. Didn’t last 30 seconds. Total garbage. Don’t waste your time

I bought this hose. Uncoiled it, connected it to my outside water spigot, and put a gentle spray head on it for watering flowers. Third day, THE THIRD DAY, it was hot, and the hose was in the sun. I turned the water on, and instantly the hose split right behind the connection to my sprayer head. Absolute trash hose. Will never buy Goodyear brand garbage hoses again.

I purchased this hose last summer and it burst near the nozzle without warning. I was worried that the light weight might be an indicator or poor quality. That concern has now been justified today. Don't let the name fool you - this is not a quality hose. Mine lasted just under 12 months.

The hose bills itself as rubber, as you would expect from Goodyear. Pretty sure it’s vinyl because it keeps kinking. The connections look like brass, they’re not. I bought 2 of these hoses in the store, when I put them under pressure, the couplings on each end separated on one of the hoses. They were just glued in, and poorly at that. I am hoping Goodyear just sold their name to a bad actor. If their tires have this level of quality I will not be buying any more of those, either.

Their 'Exclusive rubber formulation' is cheap plastic that won't take normal hose pressure for more than a couple of uses before it ruptures. The hose arrives in a tightly coiled bundle - and that 'coil' is permanently fixed in the hose. You will never be able to loosely coil this hose onto a hose rack, and it will kink every two feet until you straighten it out. Unless you coil the hose back up exactly like it came packed, which takes about 10 minutes of work twisting all the kinks out of it, it will always be a stiff, tangled up mess of hose spaghetti.

Only used the hose for my pressure washee to wash the car, today it literally exploded. The warranty process makes it hard, I never saved the UPC!!!
