It was perfect. I would recommend.

The chime itself sounds hollow and cheap, almost like an amplified telephone earpiece. Regarding its compatibility with existing wired systems, that’s a stretch. The work around it is for the homeowner to install a light duty diode behind the pushbutton and hope it doesn’t burn out with use.

Nice tone and easy to install. Real wood cover, looks tremendously better than all the plastic competitors use.

Note that the description says brass finish. It should say brass look finish. Those shiny cylinder shaped objects on each side are only ornamental and are not chimes. They are plastic (?) covered with a shiny wrap that is wrinkled in one spot. That being said, this is a decent little door bell. The chime is loud and fairly pleasant sounding. It was simple to install once we figured out that somewhere behind the wall must be a transformer that was still functioning. The wood front actually looks better than the picture and doesn't feel cheap. I will miss my 4 brass chime bell that was so melodic, but the only one I could find was $500+. This will work just fine.
