Easy to assemble and install.

Great door bell with excellent chimes.

Very lovely looking, good real wood and chimes, but doorbell sound very weak. Can't hear it unless you are in the hall way with the unit. No way to adjust volume of ring. Sounds cheap compared to the look of the unit.

Easy to install looks good

Replaced 40+ year old door bell with this similar version, has almost identical wiring and operation making it easy to install. Looks and sounds good, hoping for another 50 yrs.

For those who like the natural sound of a wired mechanical door chime this is an excellent option. The tone is mellow and the real wood cover looks nice. It was easy to install. Although the mounting screws did not come with anchors, they seemed to hold well in my plaster walls.

I can't even hear the ring and I have it turned up high

It is a great product and the sound is fantastic. I will recommend it to anyone looking for a wired doorbell.

Exactly what I want. This house had a "dukes of hazard" themed sounding doorbell that was always a trying feat when the doorbell button was rung, finally brought it back to a classy sounding two toned chime. I like the styling, takes up less space on the wall than the prior device. Strong sound, can hear everywhere. So far, so good!

Really like the simple sound of a two tone chime. It doesn't sound cheesy

It was easy to install. This replaced a electronic one. This one sounds great. A real door bell sound. It sound almost like the original one we had years ago.

The sound was weak and cheap. For the price I expected it to work well. We have a 3 bedroom ranch that is normal size and it is difficult to hear int the kitchen and ranch, and bedrooms. In the back patio or basement, you can't hear it at all. DO NOT BUY!

Easy to install, but turned right around and unstalled. Could only hear it in living room and if tv was on...forget it. AND this was the 2nd one we tried from Home Depot.

Install was not bad. Got it together and found the bell is very weak. Now I have to find time to uninstall it and take it back. Need quality up front when I buy the product. With what I paid for the product, I expected it to work out of the box.

This doorbell does the job. It makes a nice ding dong noise when the button is pressed. The front is wood and looks nice and feels sturdy. The back is plastic and feels a little flimsy but does the job.

Put this in about a year ago. Not loud enough. Am throwing away and putting different unit it.

Had professional electrians install this - first time they rang it I thought - are you kidding me? It sounds incredibly cheap and tinny - not at all like a real door bell should. Will be taking it down and taking it back. Don't waste your time on this one.

I considered plastic or electronic doorbells that cost much less. But this one outclasses them with the look of real wood, and while electronic doorbells aren't bad, you can't beat the sound of real chimes. You'll have to decide for yourself if the extra cost is worth it to you. I recommend buying in the store instead of online. Since this is made of real hardwood, there are variations and imperfections, so you'll want to pick and choose. There were quite a few imperfections (splits, nicks, small globs of finish) among the ones I had to choose from. The internals are very simple. The tried and true circuit is identical to the one I replaced from 40 years ago. There's not much to go wrong, and it's easy to diagnose if something does. (In contrast to wireless or electronic doorbells. Especially wireless, which sometimes can drive you nuts.) The chimes don't seem loud, but they are actually quite effective with a pleasing strike, rich tone, and long decay that an electronic bell just can't match. Maybe it's not for a home where the TV is on full blast all the time, but I wouldn't say it's too soft.

Installed this door bell last week and its going back. Sound is very poor. No way to adjust it so I guess I'll have to fork over more money for a better one.

I bought thiswired doorbell because the Home Dept item description specifically states the required transformer is built into the unit. Guess what, no transformer included and must be purchased at an extra charge plus I have nowhere to mount the transformer.
