It has been working very well
I installed it by myself (I’m very handy). We are putting it in the living space and it’s cooling very well and quiet. There was a cable missing and they shipped it to me quickly.

    My first min split install
I purchased the 18,000 BTU version for my garage. Delivered to my store about two days early. After opening the box, it was missing the power/communication cable, but I called Hessaire and they sent me a new one free and had it within about 4 days. The instructions are not good, but there are plenty of videos on mini-split installs. I did cut and flare my lines to make the install cleaner. Very cold and working very well after a week.

Two years in and this thing is garbage.
We paid a company to install this unit two years ago. It worked when first installed. The remote and icons are junk. They don’t really have good explanations for the different modes. It uses the remote for everything and the batteries don’t last long. We had to pay to get this unit serviced this year, because the Freon was low and it wasn’t cooling. Now the temperatures have dropped and it isn’t heating. If I could go back in time, I would not have bought this unit.

Pretty basic to install. Except where I installed it, I couldn't go straight through the wall, had to run the piping 4' to the left and come down to the unit

So far so good. Installation was easy. I was concerned if this was big enough for my garage. It’s 1000sqft with 9’ ceilings and insulated. I can get it down below 80 inside on 100 deg Oklahoma days. It feels cooler than it is because it removes the humidity from the air. Very pleased so far!

        excellent value for the money
Unit was in stock and well packaged. Included lineset and control cable, remote control. Instructions were adequate for the most part. Installed in about 6 hours with some specialty tools required (vacuum pump, vacuum gauge, R410 core removal tool, crescent torque wrench, flare tool) to do the install properly. Had previously installed units from Mitsubishi and Daikin and the Hessaire seemed to be constructed to a similar level of quality. Will have to wait and see about the durability.

Install was a little tricky. However the directions were great. Definitely a 2 person job. It takes about 30 to cool 3 car garage from 90 to 75. It has kept me cool even on those hot Saint Louis days. Good deal.

          Don't bother
If I could, I would hit this product with a truck, throw it over a bridge and sink it in the ocean. It would work just as well as it does now. I have owned this for over a year and have paid for it twice with the repairs it has needed. Find a brand that is locally supported by professionals.

Shuts off when it gets hot outside! We live in Phoenix AZ and summers here get really hot. When my mom became ill earlier this year, we decided to build out our garage into a little studio/suite for her. I purchased the Hessaire 1200 1.0 ton Mini Split to use in the new addition. All was well with it until it got really hot here. As soon as it was over 110 degrees, it stopped cooling. After working through everything we could, we contacted the manufacturer and they said the unit was designed to shut off the compressor when it got about 110 degrees! Really? An AC unit that shuts down when it gets hot out? That's ridiculous!! I can't believe Home Depot would sell this product in Arizona when the company knows it won't work above a certain degree. There are many days that are going to be above that temperature in Arizona in the summer. I spent a lot of money on an AC unit that only works below 110 degrees. That's unbelievable! Would not recommend for hot or very humid climates.

              amazing for the price
We have a 12x16 shed that we wanted to keep climate controlled. I had previously tried a 12k btu and a 14k btu portable units but neither did the job. Finally I spent the money and bought this, had it professionally installed for $500 and it keeps it as cool as I want! 70... no problem..... 65??... no problem... awesome unit with some great features. smart mode keeps the temp between 70-79 degrees which is perfect for storage. A must buy for your shed or garden studio. we've turned ours into a gym :)

This air conditioner does a good job where it was installed. My kitchen and living room were too warm and I decided to try this mini split air conditioner. However, it is not easy to install and I had to have a licensed contractor install it. Also, I needed to purchase an additional $150.00 in tools and parts to have it properly installed. Thus, instead of costing $750.00 - the cost was closer to $900.00 plus contactor fees.

Not to difficult for DIY with help of you-tube video's and basic knowledge of electrical and a/c systems. Probably not that expensive to hire a professional to install but I'm retired and enjoy the challenge. It is pre-charged so you do not need freon. Has a lot of features including "dry" which acts as a dehumidifier and very quiet. Installed in 8 car insulated garage with classic cars so the "Dry" feature is a plus. Installed in mid Febuary 2019...purchased in mid-January on sale. Instruction book has one typo saying to close off the valve after testing for leaks (you want to open the valves). Good luck!

I've tried four different brands of mini splits. This is by far the worst. The units feel cheap. The instructions are bad. The template was flat out wrong. It's marketed as a DIY kit but you still need a technician to vacuum out the lines. There are no lineset extensions available. The nuts on the linesets are stamped with the wrong sizes. Just all around a terrible experience. It's only two stars instead of one because it technically works... eventually.

So far so good. I had this professionally installed in a porch converted into a room. Installation took some time, and I was glad that the crew knew what they were doing. Don’t forget that after installation, because it’s HVAC, inspection and charging of the cooling system needs to happen (an additional cost)

Only issue was the instructions were not clear on opening the vacuum and freon valves

                  Cools garage well
I live in Las Vegas where the summer temp can often exceed 114 degrees. I had a swamp cooler for many years in my garage, replacing it once with a new one. I purchased this unit back in April 2024. I was in the hospital at the end of April for a week so my two step sons installed the unit. They actually did a pretty good job, which surprised me. I did the electrical and plumbing part of the install myself by installing two 110 breakers for 220 volts and running the wires to the unit. The unit cools the garage down to our setting of 76 degrees. It is, by far, the best thousand dollars I have spent in a long time. One note if you are installing the unit yourself. Be very careful when bending the copper tubing. I was ever so careful, but still managed to kink the small tube. Luckily I have a flaring tool and was able to cut and flare the tube.
