I'd been waiting a while to buy this hub. We have 4 remote controlled old-style ceiling fans in our home and I'd been wanting to integrate them into our Google ecosystem. The hub did so nicely. I had an issue with a dimmer function for one of the fan lights and customer service responded promptly by email. I would buy the Bond hub again.

Not the right solution
It does everything it advertises, and works well with Home Assistant, but has one major flaw which makes me regret buying into its ecosystem: it's one-way communication.
The fans I got have one button to toggle the light on and off, and although Bond does its best to track the state of the light, it gets desynced. Either a remote signal fails to reach the fan, or it sends a double signal, or someone just uses the fan's remote.
I would rather have bought smart fans with Zigbee or Z-Wave.

I did all I could to properly connect to my smart device. When it was all said and done I was notified by my device that it was connected. When I tried to have it turn the fan light on it said OK, but nothing happened. I could not get it to work after trying several methods. I then returned it as I did not actually get it to work.

I love it. I had a hard time initially, adding the fans. But once I go it, it was easy. Just make sure when u save the names, they all have to be different. For example, Fan 1, Fan 2, Fan 3.

Well it does work for the 1 ceiling fan I tried it on.
Pros: Pretty easy to set up. Pairing the fan/remote with the device was simple. It recognized my fan & all its options correctly. It does work.
Cons: Way too expensive for what it does. If you wanted to control all the fans in your house, you'd have to buy one of these for every room at $85-100 each. Then you have to power it with a USB charger. Then you have to place it somewhere in the room, and the thing is pretty big and only comes in black. So you'll have to consider where are you going to put this device?
I'd say this is worth about half of what they're charging for it. Then it would be a good purchase.

Hi there, if the device or fan uses an RF remote, the Bond Bridge can cover approximately 2500 square feet in a wood-constructed residence, and this area will be reduced if there are metal walls or concrete. If IR, the Bond Bridge needs to be at least 10 feet from the device and within line of sight.
This means as long as your fans are within that 2500 sq ft (if RF), you don't need multiple Bond units. If you need assistance, please feel free to contact us at customerservice@bondhome.io

This thing moves a lot of air... It's quiet, even on high speed. I've installed and used many different fans. These fans with the curved blades are the best at moving air, quiet, and use very little energy.

Almost never works
This bond controller works about 20% of the time. I constantly have to reset it or troubleshoot it in some way, shape, or form. I never know what fixes it when has to be reset or why it stops working in the first place but I have to do it almost daily. I have become so frustrated with it never working I am basically giving up on it. Save yourself the frustration and find other means to make your fans/lights work with smart controls (ie smart fan purchase, wifi wall controller, etc)

Works pretty well, compatible with all my ceiling fans.
It works pretty well, mostly. The only thing I wish it could do it detect when the actual remote has been used and change the tracked status automatically. That's not a big bother to me, but it would still be nice if it could do that.

Great product for control and automation of blinds, shades and fans
Great product for this niche. Automation of remote control blinds has been one of the last items on my smart home checklist. Newer blinds have Z wave control, but my older blinds just had RST. RST to z wave bridges are expensive and not highly rated. This bridge works well to connect RST to SmartThings as a bridge and even works well as it's own mini hub for simple automation. Set up is really easy.

Incredible Little Device
Better than hubs designed by the shade manufacturer: Has no device limit, has UNBELIEVABLE range (one unit covered both upstairs and downstairs of a 4000 sq. ft. home, even OUTDOOR mounted shades), works with shades and fans, links to Google Assistant via Google Home app straight out of the box (others require IFTT and manually creating applets and limits you to 3), is way cheaper than the alternatives, had the fan's remote commands in its database and they work perfectly. Immense value!

Works, but just not well with Alexa
The set up took longer than I expected because it didn’t sync between the different speed, on/off, increase/decrease as easy as the instructions. You really have to try to “catch” the right time of the Bluetooth syncing. Once everything was done it worked great and still does as far as the Bond app. It has yet to work with my Alexa routine even though I’ve tried multiple times. My work around is to be more diligent with timers via the Bond app but they should really work that out.
