Switching my home from the all gold ceiling fixtures the house came with, to anything else! I found a wonderful brushed nickel fan for my living room, but it had a two foot extension on the previous fan. I at first thought I would just try to match that, but when I was looking for that I came across this one, matched my new fan perfectly and brought it closer to us. It was easy to install, fit a standard ceiling fan perfectly and looks like it was just made for this fan. We are very happy with the outcome!

If your ceilings are in the 12 foot range, buy the 24inch not the 36inch. I bought the 36inch downrod for a renovation project where i vaulted the ceilings in a great room. Upon first glance I thought that this rod would be tje perfect length for the application. However, once I got it back to the jobsite and installed, it was clearly too long. The rod wasn't too much trouble to install, and it looked great. My only gripe was that it was too long. My ceilings were 11 feet 10 inches. The 36 inch rod made the fan hang really low in the room, and made the ceiling feel low. I returned it, and swapped it out for a 24 inch rod. Problem solved. This rod matched my fan well, and I didn't have any issues with the quality. If you have ceilings that are in the range of 12 feet(even if they are a little taller), this rod is probably going to be too low. My attached photo shows the issue pretty well. If the rod is 3 feet tall, and the fan is over a foot tall from the top of the motor to the bottom of the globe or lights, then thats 4 feet. That means that on a 12 foot ceiling, you bottom of your fan is at 8 feet off the floor. And if your fan is taller than 1 foot, then the fan will be lower than 8 feet of the floor. My advice is to give it some serious thought upfront because if you pick wrong, you will have to do the job 3 times. 1. the initial install, 2. the deinstallation, 3. the reinstallation with the new rod. And please be aware that you have to completely disassemble the fan (blades and all) in order to remove the downrod.

Product is great, Situation is crappy
I got two of these for my new ceiling fans, high quality, very sturdy. Its a great product. But here’s the situation: it says it will fit “Most” fans. Mine...it didnt. My local store didnt have it, so I bought them online and had them shipped to my store. I didn’t know they wouldn’t fit until I got home, and then found out I can’t get a refund for them. Now I’m stuck with two products I can’t use and I’m out the $30 I was going to use for my anniversary dinner this weekend. Don’t get me wrong, Home Depot is amazing, but this one-time situation really sucks.

Worked perfectly and didn't have any issues at all getting it on the fan. The short pole provide with the fan was a bit of an issue getting the hardware off of it however. Had to use an impact screwdriver to not strip out the screws when trying to back them out.

All I can say is “Wow” this extension downrod is amazing. The brushed nickel is subtle to the touch yet firm enough to hold the weight of a ceiling fan. Fantastic! Don’t hesitate. If you are looking for a nickel downrod, this is it! Perfect match with Hampton Bay nickel fans too.

        Functional and Quality
Needed the longest down rod possible to install a new fan from a 20 ft ceiling. This one matched our metal finishes and was good quality.

        36" Brushed Nickel Downrod
The down rod for the new ceiling fan was very simple to install and looks great. I also ordered the down rod and other items online and that process was very easy and I got all of my items quickly and best of all, nothing was damaged.

        Great quality
Finish coat seams thick. I through it in the back of my truck for a week and finally found it stuck under the seat. It did not hav e as rath on it and most of the plastic wrap was missing. It looked exactly like the original stubby rod just longer. Installed without a problem.

        A very nice fan
This is a very nice fan that will add style to your house, the blades turning in opposite directions are a very nice and different feature. The remote is really good for the fan but as far as the light goes, it really needs an on and off switch with the dimmer, turning the light on and off takes some time to master as it is with the dimmer switch. We installed on a 17' celing with a down rod and it really makes the room look great. The airflow is also really good
