The window overall is well made. However it comes with no installation instructions, beyond a suggestion on one of the labels of looking on their website, which has no installation instructions for this model that I could find. Still, since I've installed windows before, I went ahead. There's a problem with the crank handle, where the set screw will not go in far enough to hold it to the post. I used the contact form on Jeld-Wen.com to request a replacement part under warranty. They promise to respond with two business days. That was a full week ago. There has been no response. From this sample, Jeld-Wen makes a decent window, but their customer support is seriously lacking.

These Jeld wen windows are not all that.it came with screens that were black when I ordered white and the screens were way too big so I had to order new screens also The part that holds the arms on so you can turn the window closed and open Were missing, and we found them jammed into the frame of the window so I had to order a new part for that.It wasn’t a good experience with Jeld wen!

Reduces heat from the sun.
Great window! The handle used to open the window could be larger. The gears are visible, not sure if it's missing the cover but seems like a pinch hazard to me.

Materials are good but build quality is garbage. It is obvious nobody tested these after they were built and it took about two hours on the phone getting passed around to different representatives to get a discount for my time and effort in fixing them. The windows stick upon opening because the tolerances on some screws were not accounted for. with a little more quality control in their factory this could be a very good product. And I will say the final customer representative I spoke with was very helpful in getting everything taken care of but it took quite a while to get to that person

Very expensive window. Sloppy build quality. My windows were over...
Very expensive window. Sloppy build quality. My windows were over 600$ each. They had sealant all over the glass and and all over the nailing flange. It took quite a bit of extra work to clean them up. Also they came without screens. Apparently They are being shipped separately. Its been months and I still don't have them. I would give them zero stars if I could!

Window won’t close and screen is missing.
We are finishing out a small cabin and just recently installed the window, which we bought in July. First problem- there is bo screen and no indication from the store that one would be shipped at a later date. As this is part of the package we paid for, I am disappointed in the reaponse from JeldWen to other customers regarding the missing screen. Since we paid for a screen we should get a screen or price adjustment. Second problem- the window wouldn’t fully close on one side. Turns out one of the hinges was not installed evenly and the only way to remedy the problem was to remove the metal latch insert on that side so it would close. Now the wondow only locks on one side. Very disappointed with this purchase.

This window does not close properly
One side of the window closes lower than the other. I measured the distance from the bottom ledge to the metal plate that holds the hinge and one side is off by 2/16 of an inch. Is there a way to adjust the hinges?

Window was made well, but it arrived without the screen. A small refund was given but not enough to cover the cost of making a new one.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Our screen vendor has been behind on screen orders and if you are missing a screen it may be on back order. The store should reach out to us with your purchase order number and check to see if the screen is on back order.

Where's the Screen?
I have purchased many Jeld-Wen products and have always been happy with the quality, until now. The window itself is exactly what I wanted, install was simple (per husband) and it looks great. My problem is, it did not come with the screen as advertised in the product description. I need the screen and so far no one has been able to resolve my issue! Reading through the reviews, there are an awful lot of missing screens. Come on, this needs to be addressed and resolved!

Due to our screen vendor experiencing production delays to do employee shortages and material shortages many orders are shipping without the screens so the customer can install as soon as possible. For those orders that were ordered with screens please contact the store you purchased from and they can call us and find out when your screens will ship. If it is an online order please contact the online customer service number on the website where you purchased your item.

Buyer beware - this window is for new construction (exposed studs) only
This came with a nonremovable fin around it that prevented it from fitting into existing home window cutout. Description on HD site says this window can be used for New Construction or Replacement. Not happy about this. From what I can gather, it looks like there should be separate options for this window where buyer can choose either with border fin or without.

Thank you for your feedback. We apologize for this inconvenience. The nail fin on our aluminum windows can be scored and snapped off without affecting the warranty. Also this window can be ordered through Home Depot with or without a nail fin.

I understand your frustration about the measurements of the awning window you received, First, let me address the screen issue. All our screens are on back order mostly due to short staffing at our screen vendors, also delays with materials needed to manufacturing the screens, please be assured your screen will be shipped to the store as soon as it is received by us from the vendor. On to the measurements of the window. Typically the stores use the Rough Opening for measurements for ordering the windows. Their design systems are programmed to remove 3/4 of an inch off the width and the height of the measurements to aquire the frame size. This all depends on the accuracy of the contractors doing the measuring,. we do allow at least 1/8" tolerance for our product when manufactured.

This widow was installed by our contractor; no issues or comments on install. The window is perfect for our remodel plans and arrived with no damage and all needed parts and accessories. Max window extension is about 7"; wish it could be a bit more but probably limited due to being a very small window.

This is a well crafted window. One major complaint is that it is a raw wood interior, but much of that is exposed to the elements so you must either paint or varnish and that entails taking all of the hard ware off. This is labor intensive and tedious work. Not only are there many parts, but the nooks and crannies that need paint are hard to reach. Easy solution would be to sell this item pre-treated. SOLVED.
