Same issue as everyone else, leaks from spout. Horrible design.
Professionally installed by a plumber.
Sad that after two years Kohler didn’t care to fix the issue. Just let more and more people get water damage. Kohler lost its reputation.

Leaking at Tub spout due to slip fitting
I am having the same problems others reported with the slip fitting on the tub spout not sealing, this is one of the poorest designs I have ever seen and is clearly a known issue that Kohler continues to ignore.

Beautiful Look, Bad Engineering
Nice look, bad engineering. Spout leaks every time shower is on. After a headache of an install, including finding out that Kohler's newer models don't have valves to connect to older Kohler plumbing, we had to retrofit the valve in the wall (breaking through tile to run new plumbing was not an option). Then spout leaked when diverter was pulled up. Called Kohler, they sent a new faucet, new one is no better. Do NOT buy Katun or shower spouts with the diverter that lies flush with the spout!

Pretty to look at but trash. Don’t buy!
My plumbers worked over 6 hours trying to install. The shower head never stopped leaking. I even went to store & bought a 2nd faucet set thinking the first one was faulty. The 2nd one did the same thing. Returned it.

KOHLER DOES NOT WORK W/ TANKLESS HOT WATER HEATER

I like the look of it; however, it takes 12...
I like the look of it; however, it takes 12 min to fill up the tub and you have to use it on the hottest setting to get a bath that's not tepid. My plumber said it was because it uses much smaller pipes than my old set. Otherwise I would have given it a "Good", but still all parts except the faucet is made of plastic, so I'm not expecting it to last too long.

Katun valve shower
The 3 in Katun by Kohler (R78040-4E-BN) shower valve is properly set, but when turning it to the farthest extreme in order to get hot water, no warm water is released. Not an issue with the water heater because other showers throughout out the house are heating!

Bad slip on spout design. The spout is very sturdy but the attachment to the copper pipe is flimsy. One Allen Head screw is not enough to secure the connection. Hi Sbrown, this is Sarah with Kohler Co. I'm sorry to hear your Katun bath spout and showerhead are running at the same time. We suggest removing the bath spout to run the water from the tube without the spout attached. If the water comes out of the pipe without it running from the showerhead, this indicates the bath spout is not diverting properly. If the same thing occurs when the bath spout is removed, we recommend looking at the piping from your valve. The tubing coming down from the bottom port of the valve, to the bath spout, must be copper. If another material is used (e.g. PEX, PVC, etc.), this will create a back flow. Do not recommend
I bought this a little over a year ago for a bathroom remodel to replace a leaky 20yo faucet. I purchased a Kohler faucet because it was a name I trusted and felt like I would be getting a good product. I liked the look of the faucet but it's given us nothing but problems and what we now have is a new faucet that continuously leaks - both from the front and into the wall. Do not recommend this.

Do you want water damage? Then buy this!
The spout is awful - like everyone said, it will loosen and cause water to leak. The stress from having water come down through the ceiling and not being able to use the shower until a plumber can replace it… save yourself the $ and don’t buy this!!!

Looks nice
I am having the same problem it seems as the others here. Slip on spout leaks water towards the shower wall when I change from tub too shower. Have taken it off a few times everything seems to be correct. Very disappointed with this product. Have used Kohler products many times in the past never a problem.

Bad News
I bought the katun shower/tub set a year ago , but had to wait for my remodeling job because of COVID. The shower head is so tight that it is very difficult to move. As for the facet it is leaking all of the place. Called the plumber several times and they can’t get it right. It has cost me way more than it’s worth. So disappointed!

Pretty...but pretty much non functional
Really disappointing since we have all the accessories that go with it but for the expense I expect it to actually work. The functionality of getting the water from the faucet to the overhead spray is spotty at BEST. 90% of the time you find yourself wasting water yanking at the thing to get it to stay and it hardly ever does. If all you do is take baths, this might work for you.

Very Unhappy with this Tub/Shower Faucet
