Great circuit breaker finder

Not being a knowing of electricity very well, it was easy to use. I attach the transmitter to outlet, bulb or socket and you bring the receiver to the fuse panel and it detects what fuse belongs to it and if it’s wired correctly.

Battery casing had dried material around it. Battery casing appeared cracked. The circuit breaker finder itself turned off after 5 seconds of turning it on. I did not even have time to scan the entire panel. I returned it to Home Depot and got a replacement, which worked fine. I am very disappointed with Klein Tools, who did not respond to my request for troubleshooting. For the price of this product, I think the accessory kit should be included.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this because I am in property maintenance and the breaker panels at most of the homes are either unmarked or illegible. I was initially doing this the old way by plugging in a lamp and running back and forth after flipping each breaker. Not only is this time consuming, but I prefer not to flip breakers unnecessarily. I was skeptical about how well it would perform because the price is relatively low, but it worked flawlessly on every property I used it on. It is essential to have your panels marked to simplify any work you are doing, and this device makes it very easy to accomplish that task. One suggestion I have for people marking a panel is to draw a diagram of the home, and then mark the outlets/fixtures individually on the diagram rather than scribbling notes on the panel door. The diagram makes it very easy to choose the correct breaker the first time, because many times different outlets in the same room will be controlled by separate breakers.

I should have purchased something like this years ago. If your are updating your house with smart switches everywhere, this is a huge time saver

I used this to verify all my outlets in the house and which breakers they were on. The polarity tester works great. All of my outlets were wired correctly. As far as the tracer goes, I found it to be a bit iffy. Some readings were spot on, while a few other breaker readings were a bit faulty. One time I would get a positive reading, then just to double check I would take another reading and I wouldn't get any reading on it. This was my first time using this type of tester so it may have been me or the wiring in my house as it is a mess. I would at times get readings on 2 separate breakers. Again this could be the way my house was wired. As it is I would just throw the breaker to verify I had the right one. I now have every outlet and light marked as to what breaker it goes to. As a professional electrician there may be better tester out there, but for me it worked out for what I needed it to do.

This tool is strong and durable, it also has a lot of driver bits.

Worked well....No complaints

I really like this gadget. Every place I've lived, the notations at the breaker box have never been complete nor reliable. I changed an outlet for my cousin several months ago, and for her huge house I tried no fewer than 8 breakers trying to find the right one. WIth this tool, you simply plug one end into the outlet, and at the breaker box scan the breakers to identify the right one. Easy peasy... maybe, baby. The identification isn't exact. It's a best guess based on the strength of the signal as you point the tester at each one. It's fairly accurate, but I'm hesitant to take it at face value. Still, it's a HUGE improvement over hit and miss. But here's the thing... and why I ding it. The description reads."The Klein Tools ET310 is a digital circuit breaker finder used to locate the correct circuit breaker in a panel to which an electrical outlet or fixture is connected." It says NOTHING about the fact that in order to test for a fixture, you need to buy additional accessories. If you look at my attached picture from the packaging, the adapter to test a fixture is two-prong while the Finder is three-prong. So you need to get a three- to two-prong adapter, then the plug to socket adapter, in a ridiculous series that will not fit every situation. In my humble opinion, everything should be included to make it a good value for the price. Despite the tech of this FInder, I still relied on my Klein sensor to make sure the power was actually off. So silly.

As always, Klein puts out a quality tool and guarantees them with confidence. This Digital Circuit Tester is a fantastic tool to have if you have a circuit breaker panel all messed up. The prior owners of my home just guested which breaker shut off which area of the house. Boy, what a mess!. With this gem of a tool I can put the transmitter in the socket, turn it on and go to the panel in my garage. The long part or Receiver will sound with a beep, light up and give you the voltage it's finding. As you see on the transmitter, there's a series of codes. These tell you if the circuit's grounded, open or state that the electricity is in and it runs all this on a 9v battery.. You can't go wrong with this tool. It's very reasonably priced at Home Depot, has a great guarantee from Klein & is accurate, a major importance when you're working with electricity. You want to be right!

best tool ever made

As an electrician, I use this tool daily. This, my mult-tool and a voltage detector are my best friends when estimating and quick troubleshooting. It's part of my EDC. They make a heavy duty model, but it has less tools and if I need heavy duty, I break out my tool bag. My old one was around 10 years old and ready to be replaced! I recommend this one...

Quality tool as always with Klein.

This is my favorite screwdriver and a baseline that I measure my expectations against for any other screwdriver I have to use. The grip is great and it has plenty of driver options to prevent unnecessary trips back to the tool bag.

The Klein 11-in-1 screwdriver/nut driver is an excellent tool when you are working with different hardware. The comfortable grip and light weight design makes it easy to handle while working with it. The reason I did not give it a five star rating was that the bits sometimes come loose in the tool and rattle. It is a preference I suppose but still a great tool.

11 functions in 1 means less tools being carried around. Only downside is if you lose a tip they're almost as expensive to replace separately as it is to buy a new 11:1. It's a quality Klein too.

Best all in one screwdriver I have ever used, only problem is the #2 flat / Phillips bit gets lost easy and Klein does not offer purchase of those small bits but you will haft to spend another $20 every time you loose the bit. I do service work and use all of the different fittings and bought 5 of them last year because of loosing the #2 flat / Phillips bit only.

I absolutely love this combo driver, but it rusts way too quickly. Ive had to swap it out twice since purchasing it (less than 6 months ago) due to the rust. I understand that I work in an environment where it is subjected to getting wet, but I have other tools that are used more frequently in the same environment and they haven't rusted. I wish there was a fix for this.

The Klein 11-in-1 Screwdriver/Nutdriver is a must-have tool for any serious tradesman in the electrical field. The 11-in-1 eliminates the burden of carrying around a separate tool for every task which translates to less weight in the tool pouch and fewer tools to keep track of. The Klein brand has a long-standing and well established reputation for durability and excellence and is the brand of preference in the field. I would still be able to do my job without this tool, but it would be much more difficult to do so.

works great i have several and everyone on my team has one used 5 days a week (i dont work weekends...well sometimes...dang hunny do lists!)

Just didn't work for us. It rarely identified the correct circuit. It got close but not accurate. Very disappointing.
