The Aura lock is a Bluetooth lock that works with the Kwikset app within 100 feet depending on your environment. The Aura will not connect to Wi-Fi for remote access. For a Kwikset Wi-Fi lock that allows remote access via the Kwikset app, please see the Halo lock, linked below.

Easy to install, operate & connectivity to apps (iphone, wifi, etc) excellent!

Only two weeks installed, but solid construction feels good, lock moves smoothly. This model with WiFi is tough on the battery. 80% battery after two weeks of moderate to little use. May need rechargeable batteries to flip around with the unit for efficiency. Good looking and the ease of rekeying is awesome and convenient.

Worked great until it didn’t.
Worked great for 2 years, but all of a sudden it started having jams while locking and unlocking. Was properly aligned with no binds when manually using it. Switched to using keys only until got locked in and unable to turn inside knob. Had to take it off to get the door open to leave. Seems the gears are jammed.
If it was only a $50 lock I wouldn’t be mad about exactly 2 years of use, I’d just replace w/ different lock, but at it’s price I’ll be contacting customer service. I will follow up.

The deadbolt fingerprint scanner fails 95% of the time and only attempts to lock, not unlock. Very disappointing performance

Love this lock set! It’s pretty specific finger print wise, so I’m still getting used to it. With the app on my phone, I can lock and unlock my door instantly.

Its a nice looking unit, but the instructions to create an entry code are pretty poor. I had downloaded a Kwikset app, but it was the Kwikset Primas app, instead of the Aura app, and this lead to frustration. Why have two different Kwikset phone apps?

Looks great, easy physical install. Rekeying was also easy. Programming fingerprints is definitely a bit finicky, takes multiple times to get a fingerprint accepted and wasn’t able to get my 5 year old added which is concerning.

Once the keypad is lit up, you can then enter your code to unlock it.
