resetting gets old after a while
Had this switch for about 2 years and have had to reset (reconnect to network) numerous times because it would say “not responding”. When you reset, it could work for the day or up to about 4-5 months and go to “not responding” It just got old. Im looking for something else because it finally gave out and won’t reset or switch on anymore

Don’t bother
I have several of these switches & dimmers. The dimmers work flawless, but the switches are pure trash. I bought two switches two years ago and the first year it was problematic. With a firmware update it seemed to stabilize. Now this week I decided to add more of the switches and 2 of the 3 I bought would not connect to the network. I tried through their app, homekits app and through tye wifi settings and nothing. I called their customer support and it was a long wait. So I left a call back number. Nothing from them. I will be returning the switches.

I've always been a fan of the straightforward and solid solutions that Leviton provides. This product is good; being HomeKit, it's niche, and the authentication challenge is an issue for some people. My biggest worry is that we'll have to replace all of these smart switch devices in the next few years as there is consolidation on future standards in the industry.
Favorite feature - essentially just a standard Decora-style switch, no fancy buttons, so it blends in with modern contemporary homes.
Biggest dislike: as an always-on device that requires a neutral, of course it is always on, but it's been surprising that the switches themselves are hot to the touch as a result. I wish they published in the specifications how much power this always-on device uses, even when the load is switched off.

5 of 6 failed within a year
I purchased 6 of these and 6 lutrons. At the time, lutron only had smart dimmers. These where installed in 4 bedrooms (fan/light conbinations) and the other two were in a hallway and a pantry, both of them hooked up with 3 way. All except for 1 bedroom failed within a year. During the initial install, they were a bit tricky to connect but not impossible. Over the year, not only did they constantly disconnect and have to be reprorammed, 3 of the 6 have completely failed as switches. To date, i have 1 “smart” switch, 2 switches that have lost smart capabilities, and 3 that ive had to remoce and replace with a regular switch. All of my lutrons are working great since installation.

If you have good Wi Fi coverage in the area the smart switch will be located, this is a good choice for remote operation without a bridge. The Lutron Caseta, for example, requires a bridge and is limited to a range of 30 feet.
Out of the five Decora Smart Switches I have in use, only one would be within range of the Caseta system, the rest are up to 100 feet away. I have a single router without any range extenders. I did relocate my router away from the brick chimney in the center of my house and that gave me a stronger signal almost everywhere in the house as well as the unattached buildings where the smart switches are located.
I did have some trouble updating the firmware. It can only be done through the Leviton Decora Smart Home app and the app wasn't working. I deleted the app, re-installed it, and that got it to work as it should.
For light switch programming and manual operation, I use Apple's "Home" app and it was very easy to set up. It does lack a "random" feature but has other programming options such as time of day using local sunset/sunrise and activating when a family member's phone joins the home network after dark.
If you use a Decora Smart Switch in a 3 way light switch circuit, you need to purchase a coordinating or matching remote switch. Choosing which remote switch depends on your needs. Normal 3 way switches will not work for the other switches in a circuit with a Decora Smart Switch. The "smart" switch is installed in the "line" switch box. That is the box that is supplied power by the breaker panel. The remote switch is located in the switch box referred to as the "load" in the installation instructions.

Inconsistent Performance, Apple Homekit Lock-In: Disappointing offering from a v
The simplicity of Apple Homekit configuration had me spring for the 10% extra cost for this switch over the “wifi” version. Unfortunately it’s locked into the Apple Homekit ecosystem, something I’ve not run into with other manufactures - no Alexa, no Google, no Nest integration. I’ve had to reset the device three times since installing (11/19) due to loss of connectivity with the hub device (AppleTV in my case). Assembly is big, had to update my 1940’s electrical box to fit (not a knock on the product - but something to consider for older homes) - the ugly suprise was the payoff for all that hardwork was an incompatible, unreliable device in my inventory - this product was a bust for me.

Disappointing and overpriced
I bought this switch to control my front outside lights. Reading the information on the box it looked like it would do everything I wanted, control the lights, schedule, use my IPhone. What a disappointment. You CANNOT schedule using the Leviton Smart Home app, all you can do is turn the light on and off. Apple HomeKit let’s you turn on the lights, but only for 60 minutes. So this is a super expensive on off switch. So disappointing. Save your money and buy something else.

This switch is easy to install but harder to set up on the app. Although the app recognizes the switch, you phone must be right next to the switch, if not it will not setup. It does have a problem turning on if you are not close to your home. I may take it back!!
